after one whole month of interviews for the same company... from emails to submitting case studies to phone interviews to a week long creative test and then to finally meeting the female wizard boss behind the whole operation... i got the job. i've been hired as one of the four art directors for Gettyimages (
http://www.gettyimages.com) who take care of the conceptual and creative process of image making for London and Europe.
The site has about 30 different groups of images from sports to reportage, editorials, typical stock and then conceptual stock. conceptual stock is my department.
i was ready to swim in a bag of cheese and oninon Lays chips (called Walker here. my happy food) and soak in the bath until my toes and fingers would get all cracked when Monday came around.. the day the HR manager would tell me the results. I wanted them to drop me the bad news way before because it was really draining going through all those tests. But it turned out well so good good good. it's been sweeeeet.
freelance is a great job but not good when you have to break in to a new society. specially when you're spending four times more than what you would spend back in manila. i'm glad to have a steady job doing something i like in a beautiful office right in the heart of Camden - city of punks and amy winehouse.
i celebrated by eating a hamburger and wine and sleeping for 12 hours. hehe.
my days are slowly making sense again. everyday doesn't feel like a sunday anymore. now i look forward to fridays again
sleep and peace of mind are the two nicest gifts i have gotten for Easter.
