bri-ish

happy leap year day, it's the 29th and how it is that people decided to add an extra day to the calendar.

the more i stay in london the more irked i am that i have the accent that i do. not many people are fond of it and the stereotype of talking the way i do raises eyebrows on the street and in places i apply for. the american accent is synonymous with "airhead" and "slapstick" and "dim-witted" and i can understand why. i'll practice my BRI-ish a bit more then. sigh.

i've gotten that a bunch of times where people sigh with relief knowing i didn't grow up in the states. how queer. then they get a bit more friendly once they know i'm not from there. is that bad? yes i think so.

so. freelance work is still going going steadily but i'm still applying for stable positions in an office. i never thought i'd look through office buildings at the drab square environment and be sentimental about it. well i am and it would be nice to be in a square space again for a season.

i've had some creative tests for companies and they've fried my brain as usual. but i am always grateful for creative tests regardless of the outcome because it is a forced moment to see where i stand and how quickly i can think and draw under pressure.

sigh.

here's a project i've been working on and off for almost hmm almost 9 months now for a company who tried getting into raunchy edgy comics. i worked with mister pedro on this and no we won't ever show the actual comic because the story is quite horrific. but i do like the messy images we came up with.. see...

some are online and animated. good luck finding it i won't tell you the name. if you do find it, ahem. we had nothing to do with the story. nothing i say. but thank God for projects, no matter how silly they may be. they put new veggies and coffee on the table.
