Excuse me while I allow my geekery to show (more than usual):
HAPPY TOWEL DAY! Do you know where your towel is?
and also
Truth! Justice! Freedom! Reasonably priced love! And a hard boiled egg!
Were you there?
The Glorious 25th of May / Towel Day is a holiday I invariably forget about until I'm reminded (kind of like Talk Like A Pirate Day), but I love it. Today is an awesome day to be a geek. :D
And we couldn't have asked for nicer weather! I mean, look at it out there! It looks like, I don't know, somewhere on the Med or something. There are no visible clouds. (Which is saying something for an area near 'The Rainy City' of Manchester.) I might take a photo later and post it because wow. WOW. This is just gorgeous!
This weekend is going to be pretty amazing, too. Tomorrow, I'm heading over to
ice_elf's to eat pizza, maybe get some writing done, and definitely watch the Eurovision Song Contest! :D
I haven't seen the Eurovision since ... 2007? Last time I saw it, Terry Wogan was still presenting, that's for sure. I have missed it - in every sense of the word! I'm so excited! I love cheese and the weird stuff that Eurovision invariably throws out, so I am looking forward to this!
Basically, the only (vaguely plausible) thing that could make this weekend better would be another viewing of Avengers. But that's just me being obsessed. (And don't worry,
ice_Elf, I promise not to drag you to the cinema on Sunday!)
:D
Also, Chris Evans joined twitter yesterday, and in light of this Simon Pegg tweeted that there was "
some serious assemblage occurring in the Twittosphere today!" And then
Tom Hiddleston replied and I had a total geek-out because ohwowawesomepeoplegeekingatoneanother! ... I am incredibly easily pleased, but I love it when actors I like and respect are as enthusiastic about their work (and as geekily delighted about things!) as I am.
