"in at least a few of the canon universes" -- I love how, for pretty much every superhero, there are several canons existing simultaneously. It's cool. It also does my head in! D: (But yes, when I tried looking up dates and Wikipedia said the whole of Captain America took place in '42 to '43 that felt off. I mean, beating the crap out of Hydra would take time! So thank you for clarification.)
... I am (admittedly) terrible at judging ages. Terrible. This is why I've mostly gone off actor ages/ages I can look up in this post. I do not trust myself to guess with any degree of accuracy! So your comment is definitely fair enough.
Now that you've actually explained the timeline of IM, IM2 & Avengers, I'm remembering things from all three that make more sense if they take place closer together. :) So thanks for reminding me.
Yeah, it makes sense for Howard Stark to be older when Tony was born. Even if he got married earlier, he obviously always put work before family.
There are ways around it that work - and I am definitely thinking too hard about something unimportant. But thanks for taking the time to explain/theorise with me anyway! :D
