Good Day & Family Woes
Today was a pretty good day - went to get the Christmas Tree with my Mum in the morning, and spent the (late) afternoon shopping with ice_Elf. We had tea in Wetherspoons, which was yummy, and discussed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One, A Very Potter Musical (including singing of 'Voldemort is Going Down' at the table!), and potential Sporcle quizzes (all HP spells by incantation?).
It's currently snowing, which is exciting in the extreme because I'm a child at heart and OMG SNOW, DEEP SNOW, WHICH HAS STUCK! However, this could also be an issue because it's supposedly the Christmas Meal for my friends and I tomorrow - and we might not get there. :/ Well, fingers crossed for a bit of a melt in the daytime tomorrow!
Mum went to visit my Nan in hospital, where she's recovering from a superbug (C Difficile). The other night, she had a mini-stroke while my mum was in with her; the doctors came to see her, but there wasn't a lot they could do.
Tonight, again while my Mum was there, she had three more.
We're all very aware that this might be her last Christmas. I'm starting to worry that she might not make it home again (or out of the hospital again) at all. :(
I just hope that I get to see her more after my operation. Because I'm going under the knife on Monday (to have the cyst in my jaw removed, hooray) I've not been able to see her in case I catch something that means I can't have the operation. Afterwards ... I don't know. I might still not be allowed to see her for a while. I have no idea how long it'll be before they allow me to go in. It's definitely a question I want to ask.
*deep sigh*
On the plus side: I'm not really worried about my operation. I have to be there at 7am (ick) which means leaving the house at something like 5:30am (ick) to get into Manchester on time. That means getting up at, I don't know, 4:30am (ick to infinity). But aside from that, I should be going in early in the day, and I should be home by the evening. Which is good.
... I was supposed to be writing Merlin fic tonight, but somehow I don't feel like it now. :/
