Love is Animal Cake
I made a cake for my Dad's retirement party. I'm pretty happy with it. It's supposed to look like a big snare drum with Animal from the Muppet Show playing drums on the top. My favorite part is the Ritz cracker cymbals. The unibrow is what really makes the face, by the way. I thought I was all finished with him, but he just didn't look like Animal, you know? He looked a little too young and clean. Then I looked at the pictures of him I'd printed online, and realized that the thing that makes animal Animal is a big, fluffy, dirty unibrow.
Anyway, it's been fun and all, but making all the figures out of gum paste was exhausting. Next time, I think I'm going to do something a little less literal and time-consuming.
Also, tonight I met Joel Osteen, and if you don't know who that is, you gotta study up on your mega-churches. He was nice. And he seems like the cutest, sweetest little thing in the world, which had me sitting in the mega-church pondering how he and his wife ever have sex. He just seems too sweet and clean for that messy, sweaty stuff. They have kids though. I guess you just have to work through those things when you're married.
