Interesting day
I was working alone again, but the day has brought back my plans to stay on longer... despite the sad things surrounding the day.
firstly susie told me she was going to teach me to make meds, which was really fun. So I made all the meds for the iowa pigs and for harry and hazel. Penicillin crushing and good stuff, not sure how good that is for my allergy but it seemed fine. Susie looked like she was going to have a heart attack when I told her. Crushing 41 pills in a morel and pestle is certainly an experience. Then harry and hazels gets mixed with strawberry jam to cover the gross taste.
I also brought up the birds for burial, which was sad but sort of helpful in a way. I mean, well sending Annie, Ruth etc off to burial and getting to say good bye, I guess.
On a scary note (well not really but I worry about him) Sullivan wasn't feeling well, so he was on fluids and some decongestants before being sent to the vet. I am hoping he'll make a swift recovery and be back in no time. Mrs. Sherman seems much better and is now trying to sit in her water bowl (which is only big enough for one leg to go in, so cute).
We also had Karen's help to drive and move feed which rocked, and we got apples picked up and took them to the cows <3! I love the cows. They are all so sweet, although drooly. I was sticky and gross, but they were so happy I didn't care. God I love the cows, Larry was a pig and ate more than his fair share, so I had to push him away while I feed some other cows. Gotti, Travolta, and so many others.
The new interns have also arrived, they are all so great. Really making me want to stay on, plus JAcBlades <3!!! Sent me the cutest rubber boots and farm animal cookie cutters from amazon when I was having a bad day, she rocks so much. I have never been more cheered up in my life, I need to thank her. I also bought my swap trade stuff and need to packaged it soon (58$ ooops).
All in all things are getting better, although past issues with working and disagreements/annoyances are still here and getting worst. But we likely won't work together as often and as usual it is likely related to a bad day for both parties. So I remain optimistic.
I don't think I will volunteer today, so tired and still getting over being sick. Rain+working+soaked= all to happy sore throat. boo.
