The beginning of the rest of my life...
Today was my first workout at Aquafit. I walked in there, said hi to the receptionist (who apparently went to the same high school as me), scanned my little member pass thingy, walked upstairs, found a walker I liked the look and positioning of, put my bag down and on the walker I went.
About 15 minutes later, an instructor by the name of Ivan comes up and asks if I'm a new member. Instantly I knew I was doing something wrong! He informs me we're not supposed to have bags upstairs. Then my phone buzzes coz I received an SMS from Mel, at which time Ivan tells me mobiles aren't allowed upstairs either. This was a great start :P So Ivan took my bag to the office for me to pick up when I was done, but not before I took my towel and water bottle out :o)
I did a total of 35 minutes on the walker and my shoes were causing nasty blisters on the backs of my feet. Might need new shoes! Then I did 20 minutes on the bike at an easy setting. I'm concerned about my breathing. I know I have very shallow breathing, so my first goal was to get breathing! Well, despite the fact my muscles were hurting quite a bit on the walker, I noticed my breathing wasn't all that great. In fact, it really didn't change much at all! However, this is only my first visit, and I'm booked in to see a trainer in a couple of weeks for a full assessment, so I'll see how that goes before getting concerned any further :o)
