In a couple of months, I'm gonna have this big house all to myself for the whole weekend. The logical thing to do seemed to be, "have a fucking party!" No, not a party full of sex. Well yeah, that'd be nice, but it's not the plan. It'll be a party, with fucking optional :P
Anyway, enough of that filth we love so much. I've invited a few people I've never actually met in real life before. It would probably be a good idea to meet them all in person at least once before I invite them to my place. They will most likely read this entry, actually. Maybe I'm being a dick head by inviting otherwise total strangers to my place. Especially considering it's not really even my place! It's my parents' place, but it is indeed my home. And a great party venue to boot.
I dunno. Things could get out of hand, and I'm always paranoid about that kind of stuff. It's not the actual LJ friends I'd be concerned about - I would be cool with them bringing maybe 2 or 3 of their friends to help them feel a bit more comfy among strangers, and it's those friends of friends who I simply cannot trust, regardless of what anyone tells me. But then I'd have my real-life, long term friends to help me out if anything like that happened. Providing they're not too drunk, of course. Alcomahol is a bad, bad thing, but it can make things so much more fun in a party environment. So alcomahol will be allowed.
The invitation list so far consists of three different sources, as follows:
1) My real-life friends. I've known some of these guys for over 14 years. I can trust pretty much all of them here at the same time.
2) My TAFE friends from last semester. I still chat with one or two of them on MSN, but at least I've met them all and know which ones not to invite.
3) My LJ friends. I've never met any of these people, and there's only a few who I would be happy to invite. These are the ones who regularly participate in Live Journal, both by regularly updating their own journals and regularly posting comments in my journal. More so the former, as I only update my LJ every few days or so.
In all honesty, I don't expect the LJ friends to accept my invitation, which I totally understand. However having said that, I've been reading their journals for the past several months, so you'd think I know them pretty well! Ah well, it's up to them at the end of the day. They've been informed, and it is just under two months away, so we'll see how things go.
This is really just me spilling my thoughts onto a virtual canvas. Perhaps it's stupid to have that virtual canvas available for all the world to see, but the reality of it is, only about three people read my LJ. So it's almost like sending a private E-Mail :o)
