i haven't updated the lj in quite a long time. i checked my friends page today and noticed that most of my friends who used to post often but quit are now posting again. it almost feels like some weird family reunion.

over the last year or so, i've become even more of a social recluse. i prefer to stay at home on weekends. i like baking. i like sitting on the couch with the laptop for hours on end drinking coffee out of my huge mug. i like driving around with no place to go... especially along scenic highway or hwy98 along the coast, listening to the ipod as loud as it will go and not having to talk to anyone.

maybe this is what growing up is.

i've decided to look into other options as far as my current academic/career path. i'm graduating in may (magna cum laude - yay) with dual degrees in human computer interaction and psychology. most of my research has been human factors based, and i was hoping to go into human robot interaction (possibly work in dc on some hri projects). but the more i think about it, the more i want to go into education. i want to work with gifted/talented/creative kids. so i've been looking into graduate programs for that. i can't think of a more fulfilling job.

i am living in a new apartment with a new boy, matthew. he is wonderful. we've been on a couple of roadtrips so far (love roadtrips). we took a robot to dc a few months and we went to austin, tx last weekend to get my car. our apartment is adorable. it's a historical building overlooking bayou texar. the color of the sky on the water in the morning is amazing.
