check engine light.

Apr 01, 2007 22:19

Last Wednesday I filled up my car on my way to work, and on the way home my check engine light came on. I have heard that an untightened gas cap can cause the light to go on, but there could be any number of other causes. I'm thinking of bringing it to the Firestone place where I last got it serviced (an oil change plus 1300 dollars in repair) to have them put it on the computer and tell me whats up.

Are they going to charge me for the computer diagnotic?

Should I go somewhere else to have it checked out?

I'm asking on this community because TV is telling me to go the place that Fran Tarkinton uses, and I don't think we have any of those in Boston.
