I applied for a Guest Services position at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk in Connecticut. It's not exactly what I want to be doing, but it's a foot in the door. It's part-time and the pay is lower than the Communications Officer position in Pennsylvania, but it's close to my field.

My aunt is home from the hospital and recovering. There was a bit of friction between her wife's service dog and the hospital's need for sterile conditions, so it was getting tense up there. I just realized something regarding my last post. Did you know that non-profits don't pay unemployment insurance? You get fired from a non-profit, you are SOL.

I may be on to something. I was looking at internships with the The Student Conservation Association and found a 1-year position that's EXACTLY what I want to be doing at The Amoskeag Fishways Learning and Visitors Center. Like most other SCA internships, it only pays $160 per week as a living stipend, but I've survived on that before. One ( Read more... )
