Wow, these last few days have been so amazing. I'm very sorry if I get too mushy for you guys in this entry, but I'm feeling sentimental.
The drama festival was all that I could've hoped for and more. It was so amazing. Women of Troy was by far the best that we've ever done it, all of us. I am very proud of all you guys and the wonderful show that we put together. I'm so happy with all the times we've spent together, even the more frustrating times. In my mind, you all deserve awards (though I KNEW that Ashley would get one!). I felt that I've grown so much as an actor, that somehow we all accessed into that "Soul of the World" thing yesterday. I was definately feeling it. I started crying during the "Listen my sons part" it was so intense. And then THE AWARD!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! I didn't want to tell anyone but I was coveting that award for the whole year and it means a lot to me. And I didn't do it by myself, it took all you guys and Kelli and God to help me out with that, and I thank you all deeply. I will miss you guys when we part, but we shall surely meet again someday!
Today my parents gave me my cake and presents a day early. My eighteenth birthday is tomorrow. This really is something special to me. In church today I felt that nothing could get me down. I feel like I've finally become who I was meant to be. So my mother made me this wonderful chocolate cake, entirely from scratch! It was so good! My parents also had gone to the North End to get gelato and Bacio candy! But the best gift of all was from my mom. She had a quilt made for me, with photos of my life on it. It had all my relatives, my first communion, my confirmation, at Maine, at Christmas, in New York, in "Making Nice", and my seventeenth birthday. I was so moved by it. Jesus, I'm becoming such a sap!
Okay, okay, enough with the mushy crap, funny stuff about the festival! YAY! All the shows were very good this year, no weird Lexington shows. One of the judges was the acting dude from North Shore! OMG! Frostbite was very good and original. The "Black ninjas" were cool and I loved the story within the story of Komachi (sp???). "Your Decision" really wasn't anything ground-breaking in subject matter, but it was quite good. I really hated Anthony! BLARGH! "Bob's Date" was by far the best show there. It was so good! I loved the whole cast, but especially Nerves! He needed a hug! I loved the concept, plus it was hilarious but also had a great message. "Lord of the Ringlets" dragged a bit, but it had some absolutely priceless moments, like the British Monty Python sounding Narrator, "Would you like some donuts?", "Hey there blue eyes!", "I think I'll give this to my nephew Frito!" and most especially: "AND THE WIND!!!!" Sleeping BEauty was honestly a bit boring but had some nice things: gorgeous costumes, the wicked cool vines, the Keeper of the Keys and DRAG QUEEN WITCH!!! The thing was, he was actually really awesome. I was disappointed that he didn't get an award. Then Fantasyland was completely hilarious and awesome. Everything from Edward Scissorhands to the Black Knight, to the Jabberwokey guy to Willy Wonka, and especially Dave from my CCD classes as Peter Pan: "She's a girl who's my friend . . . er . . . she's my girlfriend!"
So yep, wonderful weekend. I'm a bit sad to leave my OMG SO SEXAY toga behind, but I'll deal. Mmmmyep.
