I've gone back to my Completely Unnecessary (Except That It Is, Omg, How Wasn't I Also* A Sam/Toby Shipper Last Time?) West Wing TOTAL RE-WATCH, since I ran out of British comedies. So I just started "Noel," and I gotta say--this has nothing to do with "Noel" as of yet--Sorkin is so bad at women. I kind of noticed it at the time, but I didn't have as many words--maybe I'm just an angry feminist now, Idk, but seriously. CJ is an amazing character, and Allison Janney is Allison Janney, and she doesn't really get to do anything but made fun of.

I mean--all the dudes Do Important Work & Have Trauma & Make Speeches & Occasionally Look Like Idiots, but all the ladies do is wear fancy dresses and Be Concerned About Teh Menz and look like idiots and feel bad about how they do their jobs. Oh, and the human interest stories. There are also sometimes human interest stories.

Otoh, Yo-Yo Ma does rule.

eta: Jeebus, Stanley is a terrible therapist. Anyway.

*I mean, in addition to basically every other pairing possible (minus Josh/Donna, omgwtfbbq I'm not looking forward to the bits after I stopped watching the show :///).
