Vacation time and gardening
i decided i need a vacation, right, the problem being the schedule they have us on means that i only have maybe three days a week free and clear and one of those is messed up if i have to go to a Clinic (plus if i skip out while Rh has Clinic, then it's a problem too). Sun/Mon i have off, Fri/Sat i'm the only one here, Clinic is every Wed and Rh and i alternate as to who goes, and we are the only ones to answer the phones. see the problem here?
i came up with a solution i think works. Tues/Wed/Thurs on the weeks i don't have clinic or Tues/Thurs for the weeks i do (and the officers or the answering service just fill in for the phones if Rh has Clinic) i take a half day! good solution ya? 2pm-5pm - i started yesterday. next Wed/Thurs (Rh needed Tues) and then Tues/Thurs the week after i am taking half days and going home early. i think it's a good thing all things considered. i'm not using too much of my time, 'cause lunch figures into one of those hours and i feel like i've worked and then i get to go and do fun stuff while the sun is still up.
and speaking of doing stuff while the sun is still shining, (nope, sorry, no pics - i know you're just crushed by that) i weeded out the garden section in front of my house yesterday, got all my Bridal Veil irises (irisii?) into the ground and i'm happy. next is the section in front of the courtyard. poor boxwood has been completely taken over by weeds and the grass needs cutting bad. oh and the courtyard never did get anything done to it when we moved in, so it's in dire straits right now. can i just say - yikes.
i might actually get some major gardening done, and how sad is it that i'm looking forward to my vacation so i can work some more. =)
