I've started my Christmas preparations by making fudge! Vanilla and raisin fudge, to be precise. I've never made fudge before, and so far it's going fairly well - it's at least smooth and creamy and fudge-tastin, but I've poured it into the tin and it's refusing to set! After a productive day yesterday I have continued the theme and had a good and busy day today (even if in doing so I missed going to church - woops). Tom and I got up pretty early (8.20am - okay, fine. Early for a Sunday) and went to a local car boot sale. I am making jam! I have only just started stewing the rosehips and they are smelling AMAZING! Though I don't have very many so I think this isn't going to be so much rosehip and apple jam as apple jam with a hint of rosehip. Oh well ( Read more... )

I just totally failed to make cake. :(

It didn't cook properly, and the icing was too runny. I'm disappointed because it was a Greene and Blacks and a Nigella recipe, and they're normally so good! I'm hoping it's going to be tasty but it' scertainly messy.
