*the “hot tub” party (LITERALLY) next door
I just got back from Florida. The trip had its highs and lows.
WEDNESDAY
I shopped from 5 to 10pm trying to find things to wear for the trip. I got home and packed all my “cutest” clothes until about 2:30 am. (hours of sleep Wednesday night, approx 4.5)
THURSDAY
We left school right after lunch. I got a seat in the back with the upperclassmen people (Evan, Gray, Jesse, Paul, Charlotte, Sarah, Maletha). Somehow I got stuck sitting next to Jesse from Chattanooga to Atlanta or so. He was waaay to crunk for me. He was bouncing off the walls and trying to sing and rap. I was just like wtf?? The bus ride was a little boring, and it seemed like we would never get there. But then all of a sudden when we were a few miles from Valdosta (the border city between FL and GA) it got really hot on the bus. We pulled over at this trucker stop to see what was wrong. Long story short, the alternator was broken and a new bus had to come for us from Chattanooga, SIX HOURS AWAY. We stayed at this really sketchy truck place for maybe eight hours. The new bus finally came at around 2am, and we got to FL at 6am (we were supposed to arrive at around 11pm). (hours of sleep Thursday night approx 2)
FRIDAY
We had two hours from the time we got into the hotel until we had to leave for the park. There were five girls in my hotel room; Sarah, Charlotte, Maletha, Laporsha, and myself. It was kinda hard getting around all of our stuff because it was everywhere and there was always someone in the bathroom. When we were getting ready to go to the park, I felt really weird because all my friends brought way cuter clothes and looked a lot better in them so I had a much harder time trying to find something to wear. Maletha, sarah, and Charlotte weigh an average of about 105 and wear sizes 0-4.
In the park the first day, I was usually around Charlotte, Sarah, Evan, Gray and Paul. I didn’t like that as much because I felt like I was a fifth wheel most of the time. Charlotte and Sarah and really tight, so they were always together, then Evan likes Sarah or something, so he would always be around her, and Gray is tight with Evan so he would always be with him. So everyone was linked together with everyone else except for me. I liked it a lot better when it was three or four of us. I power walked with them around the park all day. I felt really sick because they didn’t stop for lunch and all I had between 7am breakfast and dinner at around 5 was a really sugary drink, and that does NOT work well for me. We went on a some fun rides so it was cool. (hours slept Friday night, approx 5.5)
SATURDAY
My entire body ached Saturday morning. Partially from being on a cramped bus for 12 or so hours, then walking so fast in the park all day Friday. We had to leave the hotel at 6:30am for a breakfast with the other Disney Music Days performers. We stayed in the park for a little while until we had to perform. Our concert was okay. Chamber sucked (but what else is new), strings was okay but it was raining during both performances. We actually had to carry our instruments through Disney World in garbage bags.
Later that day we went to this really sketchy park called Old Town in Orlando. It was really redneck trashy, but we managed to have a little fun.
We got back to the hotel at around 11 and we had a 12:30 curfew. Charlotte, Evan, Sarah, and Gray wanted to walk around the hotel so I went with them. We sat down in a hallway outside of the lobby. Somehow we started talking about my hair and how I should pick it out “like Macy Gray or Lenny Kravitz”. Then this lady walked around the corner that had hair kinda like mine under a headwrap. Evan was like “haha, it’s macy gray”. Just joking because of how she was dressed and her hair. Then when she got closer we were like… wait a minute… and we asked if she was Macy Gray, and she answered in her distinctive voice that she was!! She signed autographs and took pictures and was totally nice (although I’m not sure if she knew what was going on if you know what I mean).
(hours slept around 6)
SUNDAY
Today was pretty uneventful. I got back to school at 8 then my house around 10pm.
I’ve realized a few things on this trip:
1. I’m starting to think that it’s extremely rare or impossible for a guy to be friends with a girl that he’s not physically attracted to. And guys are more likely to want to be friends with prettier girls.
2. I need new clothes that fit well and are cuter than the ones I have now. I felt all too frumpy on the trip because of what I was wearing compared to everyone else.
i'll post pic tomorrow. i'm exhausted
