Yesterday was an accomplished day: I made lemon scones in the morning, made a Costco run, cleaned out the office closet (which is why there's a whole bunch of trash waiting for the trash collectors this morning), coded Chapter Ten of Choices and Chances, and wrote Chapter Five of Water Music.

(No smut bunnies were harmed in the writing of that chapter, for those who were concerned. One might have been briefly borrowed, but it was all very tame and certainly not rated above PG.)

But cleaning out the closet was good - there were three gigantic computer boxes in there, and I knew at least one of them was for a computer we don't even own anymore, so I pulled it out and then filled it with a bunch of other random junk - including, for some odd reason, carpet scraps. Why we have carpet scraps, I don't know, but they're taking up room and the Technicolor Townhouse ain't exactly awash in storage space. Also, one was a largish chunk out of which, for some reason, the previous occupants decided to cut out a patch. Right in the CENTER of the carpet. What a waste of carpet! Sheesh!

So out they went. As did the scanner that died last week. I'm fairly certain these things can be recycled or otherwise put to use somewhere. But I'm not really in the mood to try to figure out who would want random carpet scraps or a dead scanner, and then have to truck it over there. (This is me being lazy and Not Green. Sometimes it happens.)

Also, I have an entire utility closet of five-year-old paint which the trash collectors refuse to cart away, which means we have to take it to wherever paint goes to die ourselves. And I have a random stand-alone closet of sorts that needs to go away too, and I haven't managed to get rid of that, either. (Anybody want it? When you open both doors, it falls over on you!)

Anyway, my office closet is cleaned out, you can actually see the CARPET, and there's space. Which is good, because now I have to tackle the yellow room's closet, which is an utter disaster. I've got an overflowing box and two grocery bags full of fabric, and I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it. I do NOT want to throw them away, but I sure need a better way to store them.

(Hm. Maybe there's a trip to the Container Store in my future. Or at least Target, since Container Store is way overpriced, if obscene amounts of fun.)

(Yeah, I'm weird.)

Cleo decided to skip dinner yesterday - she was up and moving and having cat crazies until around noon, and then she crashed on the futon in the office and slept until 9pm, completely skipping dinner. I thought about waking her up around 6.30 - when I realized it was 6.30 and she hadn't asked for food - but really. Are you actually going to WAKE a cat up to FEED them? So I let her sleep. She didn't seem to mind, and woke me promptly at 5.20 for breakfast, which I was more than happy to give her. She doesn't seem worse for wear.

And all the plot bunnies are accounted for, so I'm pretty sure she wasn't sleeping after the hunt. :)
