I just now realized I did a very stupid thing, and left my Tupperware at work. And I'm going to be gone for a week, and I dread to think of what that Tupperware will look at when I get back.

I might have to send Bill after it. Except he has a habit of forgetting his Tupperwares too, so he'd only go to rescue it, and leave it on his desk, and it' ( Read more... )

Love your conversations! *giggles* You know what's good for ants? Mixing one part borax to one part powdered sugar and putting it down where you see them. They'll take it back to their nest and the borax part will make them die. Borax is a naturally occurring substance, though I've only ever found it available here in Borateam which is a laundry soap. Anyway, it works. I haven't had ants since using it two years ago.

I have heard this, but because the ants have been going into Cleo's food bowl, I worry they'll drag the Borax in with them and she'll get sick. At least the citronella oil, it evaporates or soaks in or whatever it does, and she won't lap it up.

If the citronella doesn't work though, Borax and sugar is Plan B. (I have the Borax in the laundry closet, actually, all ready to go.)

I think I have had that exact conversation with my cats. Every day. For 11 years.

I always tell them that they don't need to remind me to feed them, because it's not like I've ever forgotten. Except last Wednesday, they didn't remind me, and I left the house without feeding them. (Good thing my husband gets home at noon!)

I have heard tell that cats can go 24 hours without food and still be fine, since originally, they were hunters in the wild and went for DAYS without eating.

Cleo, of course, feels differently. But she has skipped a meal here or there, when we've been gone and our pet-sitter just can't manage to get here for breakfast or dinner. She's not hesitant to voice her displeasure, but she's generally all right.

I bet you can find that oil at any store that sells scented oils or incense. Just a suggestion. :D

Yes. In this area, the closest one is Wegman's.
