Ups and downs. Currently, up.
After today's sparring: "Dude, you hit like a girl. A very angry, very strong girl with no compunctions about hurting anybody." ...heh, I'm not sure what to make of this, but at the time I smirked and took it for the truth that it was. ...and don't ask me why he began the sentence with 'Dude'. ...also.
"No, look, you don't really want me to start killing people. I'd go to jail if I did that!"
"Not if they hit you first."
"... well but. They don't. People don't hit me. (smug) Hell, half the time you don't manage even if you try."
"(smugger-) Well I don't know, people hit on me all the time!"
". . . (resounding facepalm)"
There is now talk of making our little practice sessions a regular, weekly thing. We've already agreed on a time and meeting place, so it's looking good. ...seeing as otherwise training just still doesn't make much sense if I can hardly go. ...there's also talk of making different types of padded swords to give practice more variety. ....mmmhm, I can dig that.
So now it's 1:03am and I am mostly sane and pretty tired and rather happy, and working on a bowl of not particularly fresh pineapple with vanilla icecream. ...yes, this is totally a legitimate dinner. I'll be getting up in ... six hours fifteen minutes to go to school, and likely will have difficulty keeping my eyes open without caffeine. After that, I'll be calling people and picking up something from the post office and hopefully maybe nap, and then go to work for the most stressful day of the week. But after that, there's something to look forward to again.
:)
