stomac pains...

Oct 06, 2004 01:45

so i ate some rancid yogurt from the cafeteria yesterday... it upset my stomac mildly @ that point so i thought nothing of it... then last evening and through the course of today (till about 2pm) it felt as if my stomac had been dipped in acid, and was wanting to explode from my body..

so i stayed home from work, wich sucks as it was supposed to be an OT day.... but there is no way I would have made it through 12 hours there...

so i slept, ate nothing and just lied in bed, as being horizontal seemed to calm the stomac a tad... so i lied in bed, used my new patch pannel to my advantage and studied / g33ked out all day..

bought a Cisco 827 H (http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/827.htm) last week, and it got here yesterday, so i spent the day trouble shooting dsl / ppp pap authentication... turns out it gets the ip from bootp, as the dsl / pppoe virtual interface is always on... so much like a shaw connection, just requiring that the user name and pwd be present for auth...

http://www.azonicnet.com is coming along quite well now... the above mentioned upgrade should improve the overall network preformance in a big way... it will allow me to get my "route" working... :) 6 full on public ip's to be assigned with in my network ... :) it already works, i just have nothing serviced off it... soon, but for now, ACL central, and NAT to the max...

once this is complete, ill be working on a business case to develop site to site vpn technology for business customers with a Cisco 827 / 837 dsl router...

school is busy, good and fun... i should be reading / making more notes, but i having fun actually trying to apply some of the things i have learned, bascially network design and architecture... allot of switching has to do how your going to design the network, what services you wish to offer and how secure you wish to make it... i think that switching is the beefiest portion of network, as routing is simply directing the traffic in a certain manner, to a certain place, all the while influencing someone elses decision on how to get it back to you (based on the same premises that got the traffic there in the first place..) switching is how you get access to that taffic, how you control it and aggregate it right through to your core... hmmm this is all starting to make some sense.. :)

anyways enuff being a g33k... and away with being sick... time for sleep..
