it seems like i neglect Lj more and more and it's just interesting to see how much it was a chunk of my life back in high school and even so in the early parts of college. ha.
well, the races are in full effect, culminating tomorrow with the Daytona 500. there are so many people in town and really the city is unprepared to handle the masses that flock here. i think over time, changes will be made but i firmly believe the residents of this city are suffereing. Now that I live in the city, i can really attest to the madness that goes on. For example, lets say I need to get to CVS for some groceries. Well, the parking spaces in the lot will likely be sold to patrons of the race at a cost ranging from $10-60 depending on the relation to the track. So for people like me, trying to live my life with a foul taste for the races, must be limited to a parking pass at the discretion of the lot vendor where i must complete my business at this establishment within an hour. So ultimately, the city becomes a whore to the races and as a resident, I have given myself to the wolves, subject to the mercy of the race goers.
this just adds to the agression when it takes three times as long to get to school and work. but at least those two arent giving me grief. midterms are over with and the semester moves on. this semester is not what i expected it to be, but im managing to...manage. it just bothers me when i finished my physics for the duration of my collegiate career and find myself knee deep in the hydrostatic form of the hypsometric equation in my meteorology class. its another piece to the puzzle yes, but good god, I WANT NO MORE PHYSICS!
work is awesome. never had i found an opportunity to be so immersed in the industry and enjoy coming to work. it's so amazing, meeting all sorts of people, especially pilots, who are so supportive and hopefull in those who will take their place in the years to come. GO RIDDLE! it was funny, this was a job ive always admired. i recall a time when i was a freshman going back to Riddle and as i was waiting at LAX i saw this very young gate agent. i said to myself, how do i get that job and how cool it would be to do that job. i remember coming to school and hoping there would be someone hiring for the job, for a foot in a door. the door came and my foot is in the door and im still amazed.
anyways, race traffic should be dead by now so i think im getting something to eat. CHEESE AND BISCUITS!
