Reading the sentence aloud "Additional markup less additional markup cancellations is usually called net additional markup" (courtesy of Intermediate Accounting text) set me off in a fit of giggles a while back. At first glance it sounds entirely nonsensical. And it still kinda' does. The word "additional" starts to lose its meaning and instead becomes a consonant-vowel smoothie.
