Ha ha, Hummer owners. HA HA.

So, hey, gas got real expensive lately. Over a dollar this past weekend.

As a public transit user, this is me dealing out smug satisfaction.

I've been attempting to go jogging the past few days. I don't think I'm getting any fitter or anything. On the bright side, I've been able to wake my brother up earlier than his usual afternoon rise from slumber, all so he can come jogging with me so I don't look like an idiot. An idiot that's gasping for air in big old t-shirts and ratty sweatpants.
The first time I went jogging with my brother was absolutely ridiculous, for as an individual who has not had to exceed the speed of a brisk walk since grade nine gym, the gazelle-like speed my brother was moving at reduced me to laughter. Only, I couldn't really laugh because I was out of breath and trying to keep up, so all that came out was some weird squeaky noises. You can assume he slows down a lot so that we run at the same pace.

My family is leaving for Montreal around the end of August and apparently it's fallen to me to figure out where we should go to fulfill our daily quotas of touristy goodness. We should all wear socks with sandals and carry fanny packs. And stop and take pictures every 0.5 seconds.(Actually, knowing my family, one of the members of my family will probably wear socks with sandals and another will carry a fanny pack. Ah, family outings.)

I don't really have experience planning trips. Small day jaunts here and there are the most I've ever done, so this is a little weird. I think I'm in charge of directions too. Whoever made that executive decision has not had much experience with my inner compass, one that usually leads in one direction and that is The Wrong One.

The Wacom tablet comes with a really basic version of Corel Painter, which is supposed to be really neat and mimic painting with watercolours and oils and such but only digital. I finally installed it and tried to mess around with it. I don't really know what I'm doing when I use it ("trying to make things not look like ass" would be a good way of describing it), but here are things I've tried to accomplish.

This is probably largely due to pengleton suggesting I paint Kroenen from Hellboy. When I thought about it, it seemed like a good idea. Hey! No facial features cause' of the mask. Predominant colour: black. I could try that.

This is a Work In Progress (I shrunk the size so this is smaller than the actual pic I'm working on) but may never end up finished because summer's almost out, and I'm leaving on vacation too. I thought I'd stick it up here anyway. I'd like to do some kind of Hellboy fanart/portrait series in Painter. Or maybe I'd settle for finishing this.
