I can absolutely understand the pleasure of there being exactly the right number of slips, too.
I was rushing through Douglas yesterday to get the bus home, or I would have got my camera out and taken a picture especially to delight you.
The new, up to date, library is now open. Right in the middle of town, where there used to be a department store. Not a big department store by UK standards, but still a very good site for the town library.
I will take my camera next time and make time to take a picture.
Yay for new library! I will look forward to that. And being right in the centre is ideal for enabling people to pop in and for running all the extras like children's storytelling and book promotions and things. Are they going to have a coffee shop, or are there too many already in town for that to work?

One does not necessarily lead to the other! But it's a very nice feeling to clear out Things. *grin* And I'm sure he held a bit of happiness in his heart, that the Things he was clearing were good Things that you would find valuable.
I love decluttering and clearing out Things too - so cathartic.
Even so, I can only ever bear to get rid of personal books if I can give them to a charity shop or pass them on to someone. Work books, I am more ruthless about, because in many fields out-of-date information can be actively bad for students to have - but even then I'm happier giving them to our book recycling company, who sell what they can, give us a cut, and pulp the rest, than I would be putting them into landfill!

Yes, in the Great Bookcase Clearing of Several Years back, I sent a lot of books to friends, and in subsequent clearing out, routinely donate the rest. This town, though, has Little Free Libraries, so when the weather becomes more temperate, I may visit those.

Indeed! It broke our hearts, when Mr Marwalk had his great Tech Book Clearing Out, to have to send so many for recycling because the information therein was just too outdated to be of use.
