Clearly, they should pay me not to watch their games.

The school's network went down around 12:15 am with something like two innings left to go in the A's game. SO I MISSED THE END OF THE GAME. Which is, of course, probably why the A's finally got the division taken care of.

oakchick75 is far better at sniffing these things out than I, but a look around this morning when I should have been reading for ( Read more... )

Wow, it's gotten much brighter here since last night. Very nice! :)

Thank you! I've been wanting to do a layout change for the past month or so, but I'm more like you - I'm not too into the whole formatting thing. It's been a lot of trial and error for me; a lot of looking at posts on layout communities and thinking "What in the world does that mean?"

I was thinking of changing my layout from the Component to the Generator or Flexible Squares format, but I very quickly got frustrated, because I don't have any idea how to manipulate the coding for those formats. So I just stuck with my old layout and made some coloring/sizing changes instead, since those are fairly easy to do.

In the last couple of days I felt that access to some of your posts has become a bit volatile for me (now you see me, now you don't)

Nothing personal; it's been me being silly. When my posts are a combination of baseball and other stuff, I don't feel bad about posting a lot because I kinda figure "oh, well, there's something here for everyone." But I felt a little bad about the fact that I was posting entries that were entirely baseball-related -- so what I was doing for a while was posting those entries under a special filter of only the baseball fans on my f-list. Then I would go back the next day, or the day after that, and make the post public, because I figure the non-baseball fans on my f-list aren't likely to see the post at that point, when they're doing a scan of their friends page.

But then I worried "oh, but what about people who don't check their journals every day? They're still getting all my spammy posts of baseball clips!" So I went back and refiltered a few of those posts for a couple more days. And then I went back and made them public again. lol. So that's pretty much the story with that. When I have other more important things I should be doing, I find myself suddenly very concerned with little things that do not really matter :P

I once started to look into it to find out if I would be able to make changes the way I had in mind. But I quickly gave up since I wasn't even able to figure out where to start. That was a long time ago and my knowledge how things work have somewhat improved since then but I imagine it would still take me a long time. Especially in the beginning. Like you indicated, it's probably best if I first look for some sort of template and then try to tweak things.

posting those entries under a special filter ... make the post public ... I went back and ...

Then I'm glad I asked since I was wondering if I had started to hallucinate. Thanks for explaining it to me. I think everyone who's reading your journal has noticed by now that you have slightly more than just a passing interest in baseball. :)
