The school's network went down around 12:15 am with something like two innings left to go in the A's game. SO I MISSED THE END OF THE GAME. Which is, of course, probably why the A's finally got the division taken care of.
oakchick75 is far better at sniffing these things out than I, but a look around this morning when I should have been reading for Family Law reveals:
+ Three minutes of raw footage of the clubhouse celebration via Action36 -
stream //
download. (I have little to say except that I kinda want to put Eric Chavez in my pocket.)
+ Screencaps of the on-the-field celebration
here. (Under the story on the clinch is a link).
+ There's an FSN interview with Rich on MSN video, but there seems to be a problem with that site's encoding. I can bring up the vid on comcast but I can't rip from them, because they are smarter than me. Grr. I may take caps later if I can. Or record the video on my camera and put it up that way. Whatever. I'm probably completely overestimating interest in a 1 minute clip of Rich babbling.
+ MLB.com has audio interviews with several players
here.
I fail to understand the point of offering people free downloads of the clinch game when mlb.tv couldn't even be bothered to carry the winning team's broadcast of the clincher or the celebration, but ANYWAY. The Seattle broadcast did have a little of the field celebration, so after class I'll see if I can clip more of that than MLB.com did. The stream is craaaaaawling right now. Check this space later if you're interested in that.
Saw some of the FSN footage on ESPN last night and thought to myself, God, Barry looks so sad! In her post,
roxybritain characterizes Barry as looking rather "wistful" during the celebration. I like that description better. But I don't know what he's looking all wistful for - no one's MAKING him take a big money contract he can't possibly live up to in New York :( Stay in Oakland, man.
I have, like, no Oakland Athletics communities friended, so if those of you who do spot any of the clubhouse footage floating around those comms - give a sister a heads up? Please and thanks.
eta: Also, the local CBS affiliate had 10 minutes of raw celebration footage (with an amusing warning that it might contain explicit language) on their website --
stream //
download. Interviews with Mach, Big Frank, Milton, Jay, and Chavvy.
