I just got off the phone with my mother, who has driven from Arizona to Oklahoma to visit her father and also to pick up sage for me untill she flys out here when the baby is born.
She filled me in on my other cat, Velvet. Velvet died two days ago.
My moms says that Velvet had gotten outside and was gone for half a day. They said when he came back he was not the same. Personally, I think he got bitten by something, and my dad didn't do anything about it. Maybe it was for the best this way, instead of continuing to try to fight off the sicknesses that kept coming to him more and more over the years. I know that wherever he is now, his spirit is free. I pray I gave him a good life. I got Velvet when I was about 10 years old. This cat slept on my pillow, on my bed, purred me to sleep nearly every night as a child. Sat next to me on the floor while I took a bath. Cried for me if I accidently closed the door. Always greeted me warmly and happily when I'd come home from where ever. Velvet was a great companion, a good friend, I will never forget him, and I miss him incredibly.
Almost anyone who knows me also knows Velvet.
Im so upset because I can't seem to find any good pictures of him. I've lost them all.
Rest In Peace Velvet. You may be gone now but you will never be forgotten. I love you.
