So, I'm halfway into my final exam paper on Ernest Hemingway (which is due in nine hours) and desperately trying to resist using too many quotes about rampant implied sodomy or male sexual submission. Only because I also have to manage to get through an oral presentation with a straight face, without too many inappropriate tangents (though, honestly, at this point they could only help me), and without having to explain the entire plot of The Garden of Eden.
And maybe because it seems like my professor's critique of Hemingway was pulled entirely from second wave feminist criticism.
I think I should find a phrase to replace "image as an untouchable juggernaut of masculinity" in the thesis sentence.
When did I start hating school so much and why am I going to take summer classes again? Oh, yeah, when I went to community college and because it means I'll be out of here sooner.
Okay, I am still excited about taking Arabic. But that's 'cause I'm a language geek. I also picked up a basic German workbook from a used bookstore in Ann Arbor this week. I know what I'm doing this weekend. :D
