This year has been rather intense...
I quit 24 Hour Fitness. After many days of feeling exhausted and used up by work (working much harder for significantly less), and realizing that training leaves no time for school I made an agreement with the universe: Help me find a job that supports me in my spiritual and academic conversations and I'll give up my assumptions and just bust my ass to get my shit together.
So I'm moving in with a few friends for dirt cheap rent (200/mo including utilities), and I'm working full time (40 hours a week) as a security guard (which I do have many reservations about), but I make 10/hr + benefits, and I can do my homework, and meditate on my patrols. So... things are going a little bit better.
Right now my challenges are: establishing and maintaining healthful sleeping and eating routines, integrating daily mind-body-spirit practices into my days and nights, finding a balance between fun recreation, and overindulgence in sensual pleasures, and learning to communicate in a healthy, long-term committed polyamorous partnership.
Marisa and I seem to be doing pretty well. I don't really know exactly what to say about her, or our relationship, except a lot of feelings that I've had over the last couple of years make much more sense, and I really love her a lot. It's pretty interesting to date her after so many years of being friends. I never thought that I could ever have a romantic relationship that functions as well as my friendship with her... I mostly just laugh at myself for having been too afraid to try this with her sooner.
I've also been having intense body memories of earthquakes happening, and since I've never experienced a 'big one' here, I'd say that I'll probably be leaving the Bay in the next year. I have 19 more units to hit the 60 mark, and so I should be transferring (somewhere) next spring. I have a feeling I'll be leaving to Oregon or Washington, but I'm not ruling out Alaska either.
Also, fun; I'm getting some more ink done by Alex very soon. By far my biggest, most elaborate awesome ink I've planned yet.
