though this time i've got proper internet and a keyboard, as i'm at my mom's.
as far as i know, still no power in huntsvegas. there's the dusk to dawn curfew still, which is pretty okay with me seeing as to how creepy it is at night with no lights but the stars, and how scary it is to drive around other people without having functioning stoplights.
i spent last night at my mom's in athens, where she's had power the whole week. it was amazing to take a proper, warm shower and to wash my hair. hopefully it will be sooner rather than later on getting power back in huntsville.
i plan on driving out to my grandma's in a little bit since i'm already out in the county. i haven't heard from her or any of the rest of my dad's side of the family since before the storm, really. i would think that they'd at least try to call my cell and leave a message; i've got little to no service when i'm in town so i'd think that if there were any messages waiting to get to my line they'd have popped up once i got out of huntsville.
my mom and aunt and sister are okay, even though they live frighteningly close to east limestone where the storm was pretty bad. i didn't try driving through there yesterday though i drove down ford's chapel which had some of the rough weather before it got anderson hills and the piggly wiggly a couple miles (if that) away. i saw a lot of huge, blown-down trees and crazily leaning utility poles.
i've got a box full of candles, and some other stuff from my mom, so i guess i'm going to pack up my car in a few and drive out to ardmore and maybe pick up some ice to take back home, and some gas.
i'll do my best to be careful. <3
