This is the little girl from The Sultan's Elephant, by a French mechanical marionette street theatre company called Royal de Luxe. (Official Website) One day, a large rocket appears in London. From inside emerges a little girl, and the time travelling elephant. The girl and elephant walk around the city. This show was originally commissioned as tribute to the late Jules Verne-- the father of the science-fiction genre. It's really eerie, but quite beautiful! The girl is so lifelike.

This is why I loved theatre. It's creating another world. Something fantastical, or something real-- doesn't matter, you are taking the audience somewhere outside their normal life. It's really quite magical, I think.
