My big accomplishment for the day was getting a library card! I haven't had one since high school, probably. The GA public library system catalog is web-accessible too, which kicks ass. I checked on some books I've been meaning to read for a while, and they have a lot of them. Britt and I saw this book last weekend at Barnes and Noble that had beautiful artwork on the cover, and I think I'm gonna check it out. It's called
Grab on to Me Tightly as if I Knew the Way. It might suck, who knows. But I'll get to hold a pretty book while I read it.
I watched the first three episodes from season 1 of
Popular, which I'm kinda liking. It's by the same guy who does Nip/Tuck.
After much digging around on my computer for error logs and the like, Britt decided I should rebuild my laptop. This breaks my heart. I'm just glad almost all of my music is backed up either on my mp3 player or on my desktop. But, I don't have the CDs to re-install WordPerfect on my laptop, which is my favorite word processor. I'm thinking maybe I can get it through work, since that is what I'll be using there.
Speaking of work, all of my co-workers are awesome. Seriously. They are so nice and ready to help with everything from suggesting a plant for my office that will survive with no light, alternative routes from office to home, and recommendations for dressing down for work but still looking professional. I am particularly excited about the last item. I do have some cute stuff I bought over the summer for work, but I have no problem relaxing my wardrobe a little bit. We use AIM at work, which is kinda cool. Plus I answered my own phone for the first time today. And sent emails from my new work email address. When my nameplate goes on the door, I might swoon with excitement.
