So, the operation didn't go badly yesterday. Not long after I arrived at the hospital, I was taken for my operation as I was first for the afternoon and they were ready to go early. A friendly doctor I'd met before was one of the surgeons, so that helped put me at ease. Undoubtedly the worst part was when I had the drip inserted into my right ( Read more... )

Well, today's the day of my operation to fix my deviated septum and some other nasal/sinus issues. Bit nervous. Funnily enough, more about the needle used for the general anaesthetic than about the operation itself. Damn needles! And I just hope the discomfort afterwards isn't too bad. Well, good news in Axverland is that my ear infection is on the mend and I'm no longer nearly deaf. I can hear reasonably satisfactorily now, well enough to listen to music without it sounding either ridiculous, lacking in bass, or dull and lacking in dynamics. Well, so much for my optimism that I would be back "tomorrow" with another LJ entry ... a week ago. My health evidently just hates me. I've come down with a very unpleasant infection in both ears. What a year. I've just had enough. On Saturday, my mother had to go to hospital again. I didn't mention it in my last entry because I had very few details at hand. The news this evening broadcast a story about a call to introduce an "opt out" scheme for organ donation in Australia to replace our current "opt in" system. This follows a similar proposal being put forth in the UK, and the successful implementation of such a system in Spain. Ah, good times: late last night, my DSL Internet burst into life. Of course, that was just after the light fixture in my lounge fell from the ceiling and was left dangling by one thick wire.
