And Skywarp, on his part, couldn't really believe the perfect luck of having his target actually walk into an alley. Despite that this was extremely routine and boring, the absolute easy target here! that action signalled to Skywarp made him smirk widely, go into an adjacent alley for some suitable metal scrap large and sturdy enough to serve him and then...

Yes, just go bend over and look through the dumpsters. No one around at all... You're perfectly safe, Wheeljack. Skywarp snickered as he accessed his mental map and found the coordinates he wanted, and opened the warp portal ( ... )

Wheeljack was just coming back up when a telltale VOP! sounded behind him. Right behind him!

Skywar-

The name was crossing his mind even as he stiffened to turn and face the Decepticon, but neither occurrence finished happening before a heavy weight crashed into the back of his helm. Snow clouded his optics, audios buzzing with static as everything tried to restabilize and reset. He felt himself slump to the ground, but another strike to the helm sent his sensors - and his processor - into blackness.

"-ting humans."

He felt himself hit the ground again. Stunned and disoriented - not to mention the ache permeating his head from the new dents in the back - the engineer tried to roll away from where he guessed his assailant to be, getting a bit of distance before sitting up to look around.

At least he wasn't bound this time.

The telltale sound of a warp behind him pleases him--that had been quick and he likes it when things goes as planned--and the sound of metal knees on the hard floor only makes it better.

"No one saw you?" he directs towards Skywarp, unrolling another set of plans without looking their direction.

After a moment, he turns from where he's standing by a table in a large, nearly empty room in the base. The walls and ceilings are high--it'd taken him a considerable amount of time, several weeks to clear out enough room but it would be well worth the effort.

"Well, hello Wheeljack," Malcolm smirks, as though he hadn't ordered the mech brought to him and idly adjusts the fusion cannon on his arm. "So nice of you to join us."

"Not a spark," Skywarp said with an easy shrug, not disguising his smugness. "He was in an alley, couldn't have been easier."

Which pleased Skywarp; easy was good, and even if he hadn't really done much damage (nothing the self-repair wouldn't fix relatively soon), it'd been... catharctic. Simple. Something to distract from that pit-spawned conversation with Magnum. Starscream always knew what to say...

"Didn't tie him up, but you said nothing 'bout that." He sure hoped he hadn't been supposed to tie Wheeljack up, that'd be an awkward miss to have done.

One hand on the back of his helm, Wheeljack climbs awkwardly to his knees, then his feet, shifting as best he can so that neither Decepticon is at his back. He throws the smug Seeker a glare - worse because the damned 'Con is right - and notes that this isn't the Skywarp he knew back home. He can't help but wonder how this one is different from the other. He'll have to be extra careful.

He turns his attention - and his scowl - on the big, silver mech, mustering his courage. "The pleasure's all yours, Megatron. So what'da I owe this trip to? You're not a helicopter this time, so..."

"Excellent work," he eyes Wheeljack. "No, I don't believe he'll need tied. We have an agreement." Just a small reminder that the Autobot did agree to help the Decepticon Leader with whatever he wanted.

Malcolm shifts, not particularly concerned about turning his back to the Autobot to gesture at the table set up in the room. "I have a small project I need an engineer for," he could use Starscream but it's far more likely Wheeljack will feel threatened enough not to sabotage him.

"And who better than you?" his smile is wry. He'll threaten you, if necessary, but this will go much smoother if you just along with him.

Ohno, my reminding of Starscream's boo-boo would be gone! But funny, XD savedubywarping July 16 2011, 19:47:48 UTC
Skywarp has to admit he's kind of relieved he wasn't supposed to have (thought to) done it; his own Megatron would have been rather angry if he'd not anticipated such a need. Skywarp gives Wheeljack a glance, but since Malcolm doesn't seem to care about turning his back (well, why would he, he is a Megatron), Skywarp shrugs and decides to wander about the room.

He's not sure if he should leave or not, so until he's told to, he'll hang about like an indecisive five-year old.

Oh, my, can't have that! XD derpjack_ftw July 16 2011, 20:56:16 UTC
"Ya flatter me, Megatron." The comment comes out as wryly flat as the Autobot can manage, still fighting to stuff his quailing diodes and show some backstruts. Even if echoes of nightmares and old, old memories - terrible memories - do keep trying to claw at the back of his mind. Megatron's done nothing more than hint and suggest. If he's careful, Wheeljack figures - hopes - that he can keep it at just that: talk.

The powerful Seeker gets a glance as he wanders off, then the engineer approaches the table with caution. He decides to come up on Megatron's right - not quite hugging the arm bearing that fearful cannon, but close. He's figuring it'd be harder to bring the weapon to bear from that close, meaning he'd have more time to react, hopefully to get the frag out of the way.

Once in place - and still keeping half an optic on Skywarp - he casts his gaze down on the plans on the table. And his optics brighten.

"A small project!?"

Have to agree, Starscream's failures should *always* be rubbed in his face /snerk supreme_leader July 16 2011, 21:28:33 UTC
His optics drift to his errant seeker, "You may leave us Skywarp but remain within distance in case you are needed." A warning to Wheeljack to not try anything funny and at the same time, keeps the seeker from touching something he shouldn't.

Unfortunately for Wheeljack, Malcolm's fusion cannon may be his most prominent weapon but he has many more that he can use., on top of his sheer brute strength. If he wants to hurt the Autobot; he can. At the moment though, everything is going just the way he wants and he has no reason.

"For someone of your ability, I should think you'd be able to manage it," he smirks. So 'small' is a bit of an understatement but Wheeljack should be relieved he's scaled it down some. Originally, it served as a flying fortress but that way he couldn't use his own considerable power. This way, it can be controlled remotely and he can tear anyone who opposes him apart.

"It hardly took the humans any time to build it in our universe. A Cybertronian should fair better."

Indeed, indeed. XD THis is what Skywarp is for! savedubywarping July 16 2011, 21:36:07 UTC
Kind of caught in the act, Skywarp drops/puts down the... whatever-it-is that he had been fingering quickly and nods, throwing a rather sloppy salute.

"I'll just... uh, check the rest of the place out then," Skywarp mutters and, after glancing at one of the doors that presumably lead out of this room, decide that's apparently too mundane, and warps out.

Wheeljack can't do anything about the other's size and power, all too aware of the Decepticon lord's sheer strength if nothing else, but . . . he'll take what small advantages he can glean.

'...in case you are needed.'

The Seeker is ignored - outwardly, anyway - as he leaves. The engineer looks over the plans, spotting a few minor mistakes and design flaws right away though he says nothing. Perhaps he can use them to his advantage. The Fortress won't be as big as it was last time, which is good. Or . . . maybe not. Other things in the design suggest some of Megatron's possible plans for the monstrosity.

"Yeah, not the most challengin' thing I've ever worked on." He tries to sound nonchalant. "So . . . what's this for, exactly?"

Hey, doesn't hurt to ask and know for sure . . . right?

Of course Skywarp had been touching things. Malcolm knows how the mech's alternate acted and clearly this one isn't too terribly different. It is a good thing for him to know and he imagines Skywarp will rather enjoy the immense destruction he has planned. He ignores the warping behind him

Things don't have to be complicated, to work the way he wants and to accomplish what he wants them for. He's unaware of any flaws; he may be intelligent, but he's not an engineer and he just can't catch everything. He does, however, know enough to see any deviations from the plan.

"What do you think it's for?" Malcolm smirks again. Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to, Wheeljack. "Axiom Nexus will tremble under my power."

Wheeljack can't help giving the Decepticon a sidelong look. "Until the Autobots respond.

...or the TransTechs." This time, he doesn't even have to try for the flat tone.

"Let them come, I'll turn that foolish Prime, both Primes into scrap metal," his fist clenches as he speaks, his whole frame straightening with the thought of fighting Prime in battle again and it's not 'his' Prime but it doesn't matter. They all preach the same nonsense, they all oppose him and for that, they all have to go.

"My concern is not with the Transtechs, not this time, but I will not be defeated and they will not have any warning. Not by you at any rate." Did he mention the signal dampeners? Or that he's not letting you leave until it's finished? He might've left that out of their little 'deal'.

The engineer's whole frame goes rigid, and he takes a few steps back from the table, facing the Decepticon fully. This will cost him, he knows that - and it scares the slag out of him - but . . . a direct threat to Prime, to any Prime . . . not that he's surprised by any means, but he'd hoped Megatron's target had been the TransTechs. They are, after all, by far the greater threat.

"Leave Optimus Prime alone. Both Primes." There's actually more strength in the assertion than even he was expecting to hear. Furtively, his gaze darts around the room again even as he knows it's hopeless. "I told ya I'd work on stuff for you so long as it doesn't threaten the Autobots."

"You seem to think you have a choice," he growls, advancing on Wheeljack menacingly. "I am keeping you here, until this is finished and then I will do what I please with it."

There won't be any deterring him from his goal; he will defeat Optimus Prime. He doesn't actually put hands on Wheeljack, not yet, but he isn't going to let the mech get away from him or continue to be defiant. This is his final warning before Malcolm does something Wheeljack won't find pleasant.

"I am going to tear your precious Prime apart, piece by piece. Perhaps I'll make you watch but regardless, if I know those fools, they will interfere. I am done having my plans ruined by your Autobots. Without Prime they are nothing!"
