[Accidental Vid] Fire in the Nexus

[The communicator shows someone exiting processing and the feed is so crisp its possible it may have been recently replaced.  This someone is also rather tall, even for a transformer, and his sigh is audible as he stops at the curb and transforms]

Why do I get my hopes up like this?  The probability was so low and yet… somehow I thought maybe they ( Read more... )

[The transformation is just as shocking...and he can only stare for several moments at the other bot of equal height to him.

That, in and of itself, is rare. Being the only bot between the sizes of Optimus Prime and Omega supreme usually made for awkward situations, and he'd never yet found a door that he could fit through without ducking or a bot who he can look straight into the optics of.]

You....are me.

[Except not. Now that he was paying such rapt attention, there were several details that were...off. This other version was less complicated--more straight-forward. Less rounded. Different.]

...but you aren't a version of me from my world, are you. [He'd never looked like that.]

[He wants to reach out and touch this apparition- have his fingers hit glass and prove that it's only a mirror. But his opposite isn't moving with him- is speaking to him- and there are several differences in the details of his structure]

I don't think so... unless you are from my future.

[Processing recommended calm when meeting an alternate- Skyfire found he wasn't afraid- more like fascinated- but it did give him an odd feeling in his tanks... He shifts uncomfortably.]

That does not mesh with my data-tracks, and by suggesting it you've already eliminated the option of you being from my future, thus...

[He takes a step forward, wanting to see closer, curious about so, so much...]

I am from Primax 402.04 Gamma. At present in my time stream, I was...frozen. In an avalanche.

As such, if you know of a reasonably accessible fueling station, I would be very appreciative.

[Skyfire allows the examination, busy doing a scan of his own on the duplicate.]

Primax 984.17 Alpha- we share the same prefix.

[He shakes his head] Am I destined to be frozen in every universe? The thought brings up many questions about our concept of 'fate'. I too was trapped in ice- for a second time, I might add- when I was brought here.

[But how nice it was to have a sympathizer! Someone who knew what it was like to miss untold centuries, someone just as lost and out of place...]

I know of many. My...profession has taught me the locations of nearly every establishment in this part of the Nexus. [He doesn't sound happy about that]

[...............]

[There was two of them. There should not be two of them. Despite having met alternates of himself, Starscream seems to lose all sense of logic over this.]

It's official. I've either died and gone to hell or the universe has decided to play some sort of cosmic joke!

Why are there two of you?!

...

[And that seems to be some sort of incoming signal on his own comm unit. How could someone know...?

Oh. ...its...the other Jetfire...broadcasting? And its...]

Starscream.

I...should...have suspected there would be a version of you, here. [It doesn't change how sudden all of this is, especially as worn out and low on energy as he is currently.]

Why wouldn't I be here?

Some might consider this karma, I suppose.

But I'm just going to believe that the universe just plain hates me.

Because of the infinite possible number of universes, each with a slightly divergent universe nestled in between, the likelyhood of two mechs crossing who intimately know each other...

[He hadn't meant to use that word, but there it was. The intended use was purely scientific, nonetheless.]

...is slim.

I think I would have to do a great deal more to you for you to arrive at that hypothesis, though.
