Spare 5 mins

Shula's on the phone with her mum and then we're gonna go try and teach her to ride a bike so I came up here to turn my laptop off and thought that a quick update wouldn't go amiss. Life at uni is trundling on but I think I'm keeping on top of it a bit better this year; we even had a day off on Thursday and more scheduled, which is good as our first day off last year didn't happen until January! Yesterday, had a dissection of uteri of many different animals in which many people started fainting as the room is the hottest one in the whole faculty, you're forced to wear thick labcoats and to top it off the lecturer made us all crowd around her, on our feet for 45 mins where all our body haeat added to it and everyone's blood pooled uncomfortably in their feet. Not good.

Doing 4 modules this semester and am still yet to have a lecture in one of them. They apparently don't start until lectures in another one of our modules stops, Reproduction being a mainly PBL (Problem Based Learning) module and so that all starts the week after next. Not sure how that will go as I always prefer having the answer put out in front of me and then doing some example questions/scenarios so being given the scenario and then having to work out everything and teach it myself may go a little weird.

This year is more interesting at least. I like the module we're doing about disease and the body respnses, it being A-level stuff atm and being the nice background stuff that I always used to wonder how it worked. Digestion and stuff we have yet to have a lecture but it should be alright. The head (yes, an entire module on the head) is alright as we get lectured by a guy who looks like Father Christmas and it seems interesting and not as hard as limbs which was its equivalent last year. And what can I say about Reproduction... who knew that it was so complicated? Doesn't make it any easier that each animal is a bit different but hey, if I wanted it all to be the same then I'd have become a doctor.

What else is there? Well, I have been wanting a tatoo quite recently... A nice dragon design or just some symbol I design or steal from a source not many people will know of/taken it from before. Would be a nice birthday present some day:P Maybe I could treat myself for my two decades or 21st.

Rats are fine. They like lasagne and jumping, being very springy. Shula's (Misty) is a lot bigger than my little Willow but they both have nice personalities and are learning things fast. Only bad point is they wee-ed on my side of the bed the other day, forcing us to change the sheet:( Maybe I should teach them not to by doing the same to them later.

Bought 300 on DVD yesterday and watched it again and loved it again. Looking forward to watching the special features too, which is good for me as I normally want to watch a film and so ignore the features but all the ones on the disk sound pretty darn good. Well, think I've had more than my 5 mins so ta ta.

vets, films, uni, rats
