Such a day.

Finally limped my car to Walmart to see if anything could be done to my woobly tire.  Answer:  yeah - replace it.  Fortunately, I had a warranty, so it cost than half price for the new tire.  However, it was apparently Tire Day, so it took a while for that to happen.

This meant I had to hustle to get to my next destination - Haveli, up in Overland, for their lunch buffet.   We had quite the crowd there - maybe two dozen of us?  There wasn't anything I tried that I did not enjoy immensely.  Surprisingly, I did not consider the lamb vindaloo the hottest thing there, despite its warning; the spiced cauliflower seemed to have a stronger burn (but still delicious).  The paneer was in a lush, creamy sauce; the chickpea flour-dusted fried spinach was crunchy and nutty.  One caveat - if you go in cold weather, use the bathroom only if absolutely necessary - it was freezing in there!

Now thoroughly stuffed, we all decamped and headed over to Jackman's for our annual January public meeting.  After the regular meeting, we had a demo on wig restyling.  It was interesting, but my body went into "must sleep now" mode, and I had to put my head down on the table.  otterhill would jostle me with her foot if I started snoring *embarrassed*.  Despite my occasional fade out, I was paying attention, and learned a number of things.

Alas, my desire to sleep could not be denied, so after driving home (including a quick stop to gas up the car, which I had intended to do before going to Haveli, but timing made that a bad plan) I curled up on the couch with my friend, the electric blanket, and slept for 4 hours (with some vivid dreams about helping people move to a different universe).  This meant I didn't go dancing yet again, but I had pretty much already decided on that, since I didn't want to go back out and my knees were being cranky.

Once again glad for the blanket; it was really cold today (in the teens) and I was chilled from being out in the weather for a while.

hallelujah i'm a bum, costuming, food folks and fun, hawn dat go bleat bleat
