Hypocrisy.

Last week I watched a show on "secret museums" - collections, whether privately held or in art museums around the world, that are hidden from public view because . . .  they are of an erotic nature (especially portrayals of the nude human body).

Now, when they were showing art involving the male body, no problem.  They showed the entire artwork on the program.

If a woman's body was involved, however, things were different.  If the genital area was shown as hair-free (but no labia defined - huh), they showed it.  However, the closer it got to looking like a real woman's pussy - with hair - the more likely it was that the show would blur out that area.  When discussing the famous painting "The Origin of the World", they panned across *just* enough for you to realize what the image was, then cut away very quickly.

SERIOUSLY???  This show is all about censorship and bringing knowledge of these collections to light - and you're contributing to the problem by censoring the images yourself?  And, in an interesting twist, male genitalia is okey-dokey, but a woman's genitals are too scary to show?

Thanks for contributing to the taboo, morons.  Thanks for treating that part of a woman's body as something dirty that needs to be hidden.

art, art or fart?, the stupid it burns, society is to blame, i suck - you suck - we all suck
