On Saturday Lesley's parents joined us for a hike in the White Mountains. We drove to the AMC Center and went up the Crawford Path to the Mizpah Spring Hut, then to the summit of Mt. Pierce and back down. It was a bit chilly but a good hike overall. I was impressed with the facilities at the hut, and I could be talked into spending the night there. Sometime in the spring we will hike the entire Presidential range in one shot.
Yesterday we flew out to Bar Harbor in the Piper Arrow. Our original plan was to go to Martha's Vineyard but there were nasty low clouds hanging just south of the Cape. We were treated quite well by the FBO at KBHB and they let us borrow their crew car for a quick trip into town. We had just enough time to get to downtown Bar Harbor, eat lunch, and come right back. The flight was mostly uneventful... my landings are still a bit rough and need improvement. According to Lesley the axis of the plane is always slightly left of centerline at touchdown... I may have an unconscious bias that I need to resolve.
