TV, books, politics ... the usual.

Yesterday was a little strange but also pretty awesome. I caught up with a lot of people - far more than I had originally intended as the Dux is just a magnet for people - and had a pretty good night. Feeling a little bit under the weather today but eh, it was worth it.

My tape ran out half way thorough this ep (just after Lianne revealed that she really didn't know who Veronica's father was for sure), so for the last bit I'm relying completely on the TWoP re-cap of Couch Baron. I'm annoyed, but these things happen.

I say this every week but Kristen Bell and Veronica = LOVE! *ahem* I know it's never going to happen in a million years, but I think Kirsten Bell should almost get some kind of nomination for her acting on this show. But yeah - never going to happen. *sigh*

Veronica and Lianne. Oy. That hurt to see Veronica put through the ringer like that. She had me when she was tearing through her room at the start.

Weevil: Continues to rock many a world.

Meg and Veronica ... mer. Not that I can really blame Veronica because that situation must hurt, but still, to see them all awkward like that after last week hurt.

Wallace really gets in some great calls and how cute was it that Veronica was making the cookies for him? This was a nice friendship ep for them.

Much love for this show. Much love.

I realised a couple of weeks ago that I somehow managed to forget to watch the Angel S5 finale, even though I've managed to remember to watch every other ep. Anyway, some friends of mine hooked me up with the DVDs and I finally got to watch it.

Wesley. *sniff* I have my problems with him soemtimes, but I did like him and Fred and also his interaction with Illyria.

Oh dude, Spike and the poetry, that was pretty funny. For all the annoyance he caused at the start of the season, I did like him there at the end.

Eve's 'Go where?' was pretty chilling.

Harmony's betrayl was probably as inevitible as Angel made it sound and it was so cute that he still wrote her a letter of recommendation.

Oh, Lorne. I did not see that coming.

I even liked Connor. Not that I really knew him that well (the one ep I saw him in when he was a regular he was sleeping with Cordelia - which still traumatises me a little) but I liked his appearance in this. 'You come for a cup of coffee and it's not the end of the worldf? Hee!

I also loved how the ending was left open. They kept fighting. Gunn probably wasn't going to make it (*sniff*) but the others could keep going.

All in all, it was a pretty impressive finale episode.

I've actually really enjoyed this whole season a lot more than I thought I would. It's made me all curious about the previous 4 seasons. Hmm. I've even left watching this season actually feeling for Angel. Who thought that would happen? I don't know if that means that I'll view him more favourably when he appears in early Buffy eps, but maybe.

Also, after reading the start of the TWoP re-cap for the latest ep of TWW ... *gulps* apparently this show still has something special going by the disclaimer that headed it up. I'm torn between wanting to read it and not wanting to ruin it.

I went into the bookstore to pick up The Amber Spyglass (yep, the series has has got me in its thrall) but also picked up Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors because I read 'Chivalry' in the bookstore and OMG, love. Galahad <3

Couldn't have happened to a nicer Administration.

And then if Rove is indicted too, well then things could get interesting.

This, plus Miers, plus the shit that is going down with DeLay ... it's not really a happy time to be a conservative Republican or a Bush supporter, is it?
