Log: Margo and Natalie.

WHO: Natalie and Margo.
WHAT: Talking things over.
WHERE: Their dorm room.
WHEN: Monday, October 3rd, 2011. Evening.

Margo had been pretty busy lately. Her schoolwork seemed to be picking up and balancing time to work and study and participate in club activities while keeping up with her boyfriend was a bit of a challenge. She was currently sitting on her bed and trying to work through her history homework. She was absentmindedly turning the promise ring Jesse gave her around on her finger. She hadn’t made a big deal with telling others about the ring. She liked that it was something she really only shared with him.

The blonde glanced up as she heard someone in the hall. She was hoping it was Natalie, but was disappointed when the person passed by their room. She really wanted to talk to her. Things were not going well between Natalie and Quinn and while that wasn’t completely unusual, the words exchanged were a little too intense. Something had obviously happened and Margo felt like she was out of the loop. She looked back down at her homework again and tried to focus.

Natalie felt good, albeit exhausted, as she returned from her dance session with her impromptu visitor, Rachel. It had helped clear her mind of everything, but upon returning to her dorm and seeing Margo there, it all came rushing back. The bounce in her step gone, the brunette walked sullenly into her room and began stripping herself of tight spandex shorts and bra in favor of sweats and a loose top. “I’m sorry I called your sister the c-word.”

Margo looked up when Natalie entered. She was so glad she was finally back. She quickly looked away though as Natalie started to change. "I forgive you, but did you apologize to her?" Margo asked as she looked back over to Natalie.

Laughing, Natalie shook her head. “No. And I’m not going to, so don’t hold your breath on that one. She gets away with far too much to not have earned a little slap in the face like that once in awhile.” Natalie sat down on her bed, topless as she turned the shirt in her hand over and over. “What happened to her? She used to... I don’t know, care about people other than herself.”

Margo stared at Natalie, slightly distracted, for a moment before looking away. "Could you please put your shirt on?" The blonde glanced at her but directed her gaze down again. "I honestly don't know. She's been so... I'm not sure. I think it's the boys. She's been doing things with boys and she's going to get herself in trouble. Do you think she's rebelling?"

“Does my body offend you?” Natalie said with another laugh, pulling her shirt over her head before walking over to Margo’s bed. She put an arm around the other girl as she fell on the blonde’s bed, flat on her stomach as Margo fell on her back, both their legs dangling over the edge. “No, I think she’s just feeding the ego she worked so hard to build. Which, fine, she needs a boost to her self-esteem because she used to not have it. But the Lucy stuff was years ago, she’s done more than enough preening. It’s getting old.”

"No, of course not," Margo answered, but she was glad when Natalie put a shirt on. She looked over at Natalie and sighed a little. "Yeah, I think you're right. She sounds like she's getting ahead of herself. Really. She's going to get in trouble. I should probably talk to her, shouldn't I?"

Natalie shrugged, her face pressed to the mattress. “If you want to. I don’t think she’ll be listening to me anytime soon.”

Margo eyed up Natalie. "Yeah. I should talk to her. She can't keep acting like this." She frowned slightly. "How did it all start anyway? You two fighting."

“I don’t know. I was mad at her for treating Puck like she was when he was trying so hard to be good enough for her.” Natalie sighed and rolled onto her back. “Now she thinks I stole him or something. When she just gave him up by being indecisive.”

"That's a little ridiculous." Margo sighed and sat back up. "I'd rather her be with Puck than go with Mack. Actually, Puck's not that great of a choice either. For her, I mean. Neither are." She looked to Natalie. "She shouldn't have treated you like that. You didn't do anything wrong."

Natalie tried to keep her face passive as she nodded. “Even if I wanted to do something with him, I would never do that to her while she was involved with him. I was rooting for them. He really liked her.”

"Of course you wouldn't," Margo agreed. "I know you're not like that. She really can't be mad at you. She can't, like... claim whoever she likes or once liked as off limits. That's not fair. So... he really liked her?" She didn't know much about Puck and Quinn. She hadn't talked to Quinn much lately.

“Yeah,” Natalie nodded. “He did. I don’t think he does anymore. Can’t blame him.”

"So he was pretty hurt then," she concluded. Oh well. It sucked, but what could Margo do about it? She laid back down on the bed beside Natalie. "What are you and Puck doing then? Do you like him?"

“I don’t know. He’s nice, I just don’t want to be a rebound or anything.” Natalie’s eyes remained on the ceiling.

Margo turned onto her side to face Natalie. She propped her head up with her hand. "Because you like him more than being just a rebound to him?"

“Well, who wants that either way? If don’t really care about the guy or if you do, it’s gonna suck if you’re a rebound,” Natalie reasoned.

The blonde thought about that for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I guess you're right." She turned onto her back again and stared up at the ceiling.

“I want to have sex,” Natalie said quietly, closing her eyes in case Margo gave her that look.

Margo glanced at Natalie. "You do?" she asked, speaking quietly as well. "With Puck? Or...?" She bit her bottom lip.

“With... well, not anyone. But I don’t really have a specific person in mind. Or, well... I didn’t.” The brunette sucked in a breath and quietly let it out. “I guess with him, now.”

"You're not sure who you want to do it with, but you still want to do it?" Margo said, raising an eyebrow. "I don't know if that's right, Nat. I mean, don't you want to be in love with the person first?"

“Yeah. Just... what if you fall out of love with that person. Then you’ll regret it. And high school relationships have, like, a 95% chance of failing.” Natalie opened her eyes again. “That’s why I was gonna do it with Connor.”

Margo's eyebrows drew together now and she frowned. She had been considering having sex with Jesse... but what if Natalie was right and what if they ended up breaking up? She covered her promise ring with her other hand. "I guess..." She bit her bottom lip again. "You were going to do it with Connor, but now you might want to do it with Puck instead?"

“I’ve... done stuff with him. And I’ve really liked it. Maybe the liking it enough part will overshadow any regrets I’d have about it.” Natalie’s feet kicked in the air. “It’s complicated.”

"It sounds complicated." Margo was still frowning. "What if you do it and you still regret it regardless? You can't take it back once you do it."

“I know,” Natalie said defensively. “But maybe I’ll regret being celibate until I’m married.”

"Why would you regret that?" Margo asked and sat up again. "There's no reason to regret being pure, Natalie."

“Unless I marry someone who’s absolutely awful in bed,” Natalie countered.

"I guess." Margo shrugged and ran her hand over the comforter. "But it's not right... to have sex before marriage." She sighed. She was starting to feel crappy. Sometimes, she really wanted to have sex with Jesse. She spoke softly. "Why do you want to have sex so badly?"

“I want to find out what the big fuss is about. I want to be all “Sex and the City” and enjoy having sex.” Natalie shrugged. “I’m a teenager, sex is all I think about.”

Margo folded her arms in front of her chest, hugging herself. "Yeah, but what if something bad happens. What if you hate yourself or you get pregnant?" She looked away. "Do you really think about sex all the time?"

“I know those risks too, but there’s no reward without risk, right? And I don’t think about it all the time just... think about it.”

"I don't know. I guess not." Margo was beginning to feel uncomfortable. She moved off the bed and toward their window, looking outside at the ground below. "I think about it too. I wish I didn't."

“It’d be easier if the thoughts would leave until we’re at least drinking age,” Natalie agreed.

"Yes, exactly." Margo turned back around to face Natalie. "So, then... what do we do? Just... do it?" That didn't seem like the right answer. She groaned and moved back to the bed, collapsing on it. Margo looked over at Natalie. "This sucks."

“Doesn’t it?” Natalie asked with a small chuckle. “At least if you were to do it, it’d be with a nice guy who actually seems to like you.”

"He loves me, Nat," she said softly and then sat up, turning the ring over around her finger. "You probably think we won't last or something... that it's puppy love, but... I don't think so."

Natalie blinked and reached over to touch Margo’s hip. “That’s great. Really. If you feel like that.”

Margo turned and looked back at Natalie. She smiled a little. "I do. I know it sounds stupid because we haven't dated for too long, but I love him too." She felt herself blushing. "Please don't tell anyone."

“Well, I won’t say anything to anyone, but those tape recorders I have set up to make sure you weren’t talking to me behind my back broadcast to a radio station, and I really have no control over it,” Natalie said solemnly.

Laughing, Margo swatted Natalie playfully. "I always knew I could count on you." She flopped back on the bed. "You'll tell me, right? If you have sex."

Natalie reached for Margo’s hand, spinning the ring on the blonde’s finger back and forth. “Okay.”

"I mean... I guess you don't have to if you don't want to." Margo wasn't too sure Natalie wanted to tell her. Maybe that was best. If Margo was in the dark, maybe she'd still be too worried or scared to do it.

“I just didn’t think you’d want to hear about my impure ways,” Natalie said quietly.

"I won't judge you," Margo promised. She took Natalie's hand in her own and gave it a squeeze. "I know I was never... someone who wanted to talk about these things, but... now that I'm with Jesse, I feel different. I still... I still don't think it's exactly right to have sex before marriage, but... I don't know. I'm not so adamant about it, I guess." She breathed out slowly. "I feel a little like an idiot for considering it. Like I'm not practicing what I preach."

“You can always change what you preach,” Natalie offered. “Opinions change, especially when what you’re talking about actually affects you.”

"But I feel like that makes me seem like an idiot," Margo responded. "Do you know what they'd all say? I only changed my mind so I can have sex. They'd probably call me a slut or something."

“Then I’ll kick their asses,” Natalie promised, marking an X over her heart with her finger.

That made Margo smile. "Thanks, Natalie. You're the best. Even if violence isn't the answer." She slung her arm over Natalie and gave her a gentle squeeze.

“It’s always the answer. That’s why we have war. Duh.” Natalie craned her neck down to kiss the top of Margo’s head. “But I promise not to throw a punch at your baby sister.”

"War is not good," Margo commented. She gave Natalie another squeeze. "Thanks. Lucille doesn't really need that right now. I'll talk to her about things. I don't like the two of you fighting."

“I know. Sorry to put you in the middle.”

Margo turned a little to look up at Natalie. "It's okay." She offered a smile. "I just love you both and don't like to see you fight. But it's fine for now. You just better make up eventually."

“Nahhh. I think waiting for Hell to freeze over would take less time,” Natalie joked.

"Stop that," Margo replied as she nudged Natalie, but she was smirking.

“You stop it, Ms. Bling.” Natale grabbed Margo’s hand to hold it up so she could look at the ring on her finger. “Another Fabray family heirloom you had to fight Quinn for?”

"It's not that bling...ing," she replied as she looked to the ring as well. It wasn't too showy, which was nice since Margo really hadn't been trying to draw attention to it. She felt herself blush yet again. "No, it's not a family heirloom."

“Ah. Stole it from the collection plate then. I never figured you for the type.”

"I didn't steal it either," Margo told her and laughed a little. "It's from Jesse. A, uh, promise ring."

“A promise to what?” Natalie asked with a smile. “To keep you in the lap of luxury. Tell him I want a ring too then.”

"No." She blushed a deeper shade of red. "He promised he wouldn't pressure me and that he wouldn't hurt me. That he'd be good to me, respect me, all that. That he'll never want anyone else as long as we're together..." She bit her bottom lip.

“Well, isn’t that adorable,” Natalie cooed, reaching over to pinch Margo’s reddening cheek.

Margo pushed Natalie's hand away. "Hey, don't make fun."

“I’m not! It’s cute. I can’t even find a guy to have sex with, but you’ve found one with good taste in jewelry. Where’s the justice?” she asked dramatically.

"You'll find someone too," Margo assured her with a smile. "I know you will. I just happened to luck out."

“I think I’m meant to be a spinster, unfortunately. On the plus side, I do like cats.”

"You're not going to be a spinster!" Margo swatted her lightly. "I promise you that you won't. You're really pretty and funny and smart. Guys love that."

“Correction: I don’t think they really care about brains, m’dear.”

"Oh, well, yeah, I guess they don't..." Margo agreed. "But they should. There's not one good reason why you couldn't get a guy."

“I don’t know if I even really want one. Can I be your third wheel instead?” she asked hopefully, batting her brown eyes at the blonde.

"Yeah, boyfriends take up a lot of time." Margo smiled at her. "I'll check with Jesse. That would be fun, wouldn't it?" She laughed a little. "Maybe he won't care." She nudged Natalie.

“Let’s hope so, huh?” Natalie smiled again and relaxed into Margo’s bed. “I’m exhausted with life.”

"Me too," Margo agreed and let herself rest into the bed as well. "I mean, it's good... for the most part, but... we should have a getaway."

“Thanksgiving isn’t too far off,” Natalie offered.

"You're right, but still..." She thought for a moment. "We should have a spa day or a relaxing day. One Saturday or Sunday. Maybe with the Roses or just us, if you want. That would be nice."

“That sounds good. Set it up. Now. Do it now.”

Margo laughed and nodded. "Okay, okay. I will. We'll have an amazing day all about us and relaxing and not worrying about anything to do with boys or school or anything."

“Deal. Now get off of me. My hormones are ragin’ and I don’t want this to get all Catholic schoolgirl porno,” Natalie said in a serious voice, patting Margo’s shoulder.

"Ew!" Margo moved away from her. "Definitely TMI," she added with a laugh.
