Cooking adventures, continued

I bought some fresh kale at the farmer's market the Sunday before last in Annapolis and kept meaning to use it and finally did this evening in a quite tasty kale and sweet potato soup: www.foodandwine.com/recipes/island-kale-and-sweet-potato-soup. May main comment would be to add more sweet potato, but that's more a note to self than a comment on the recipe b/c I simply used two already cooked sweet potatoes we had in the fridge and some other cooked sweet potato we had in the freezer, so I have no actual clue if I used the amount called for. Similarly with the amount of kale--I just put in all the kale I had, though I think next time I would either a) cut the kale into smaller pieces or b) use only half or 3/4 of the amount I used and save the rest for something else exciting like "kale chips" that were recommended.

In other cooking/baking news, my mother asked that I make more pumpkin bread this week/weekend so I'll be trying out either one or both of the other recipes I found and posted back on the entry about pumpkin bread. I'll update here about it as needed.

Is anyone else cooking exciting things? Or baking exciting things? Or have recommendations on exciting things I can bake?

I may be doing nothing to look into the future, but I am enjoying my evenings spent practicing recorder and baking.

Also, not at all related to any of the above, but  I Just realized yesterday that my phone has the capacity to record sounds! This is exciting except that I have no idea what to do with any of the audio I can potentially record.
