Sometimes, we really can't face our true selves. Sometimes, we just need a way to break free. (Open)

It's hard to explain why such a thing was happening right now. But if one were to peer into the garden of the park, you'd be hard-pressed not to notice the sudden crash coming from it.

If you were to look even closer, you'd see that the clash was made by two identical, quite large hammers...

...

For Ramona Flowers, the day had started just like any other: Wake up, get ready, go to work (somehow, despite being stranded here), deal with her own repressed thoughts and memories. Deal with everything she had done.

Here, she couldn't escape her past, or her present.

Here, she was locked away from the rest of the world, from a place to run.

And when she felt she just couldn't take it anymore, she had gone to the park for an afternoon of solace. Almost nobody was there as the night was beginning to take hold of the area. There, she walked slowly, looking down at the ground and kicking rocks and sticks away from her. She could think to herself, let her mind wander, embrace the vast Subspace highway throughout.

Inside, she was distraught. For all she knew, she'd never be able to see 'her' Scott again. Even with there being more Ramonas here (of which she'd not seen in a while), it didn't feel like a place she wanted to stay in much longer. She felt like she was going crazy. Like if she didn't get out of there soon, she didn't know what she'd do.

She felt horrible. For everything she did to Scott. And, for that matter, everything she did to Gideon. And some of her other exes. Would she freely admit this? Of course not. Ramona was the type of girl that kept to herself. She'd dabbled in being a bitch long enough. What was to stop her from keeping right on going?

But this place had made her think. The longer she kept away from everyone and everything, the further she pushed everyone away... the loneliness began to sting. She didn't need to get attached to anyone again.

She had long since given up on reuniting with Scott Pilgrim.

And... that was it. She was willing to give up more, just to keep pretending that everything was normal. That was enough for her. She didn't care anymore.

Thus what brought about possibly the thing she hated most - her own thoughts and actions she was hiding. Before she knew it, she bumped into something. Or someone.

Someone who was enveloped in shadow.

Who had their head down in the same position she had.

Who was kicking rocks and sticks away only seconds earlier.

It was something she never heard about before. Something she never thought would happen. But as she looked up to meet eye-to-eye with her other half, she knew why it was there.

Words were exchanged. Arguments brought about. They were alone, free to converse however they pleased. But, of course, Ramona refused to let out what her other self freely proclaimed.

"You can't escape," said her Nega self. "You can't run away. Why continue hiding? You can't do this forever."

"I can do it for as long as I need," responded Ramona. "You can stay where you've been all this time. In the back of my damn head."

Before she knew it, an instinct spoke in her head. Without warning, she brought out her hammer from her Subspace bag and swung.

... At exactly the same time her Nega self did.

It's obvious these two figures are fighting. What do you do? Do you listen in? Interject? Whatever it is, do it quick, or you might be caught up in this battle as well...
