Who's still posting at their live journal

Oct 13, 2020 23:31

that's me. Who knew since graduating about a decade ago, we'll stop live-journaling. i think the main reason why it's no longer popularity, is due to facebook. People with short attention spans prefer to see stories and news, rather than reading an entire blog post.

By the way there's this thing called COVID-19. Boy has 2020 been on the rocks since March and lots of events that would have a crowd have been canceled, in particular, the meetups. Here in the Philippines, we're on general community quarantine, which is slightly relaxed compared to before. We can go out, as long as we've got masks, and face shields are required when entering most shops and malls.

As for me, I can't believe I became a UI guy. I used to shift between PHP, NodeJS, everything backend. 3 years ago, I took  a UI designer role. I think I  basically needed a break from the boring backends, CRUD's that I've been developing since day 1. I actually hate frontend frameworks. Thankfully, Angular seems to be a great simple opinionated framework that is easy to grasp. Coming from a React background of dumb and HOC's and all, it was a welcome change. I can't believe there's a lot of CSS tricks that I didn't know about, and it's hard to keep track of all those codes. It's a lot more thinking than before where you just open up your dreamweaver and drag stuff around and voila!, you're a frontend developer.

Netflix rules!

I've been watching a lot lately, especially due to the quarantine. Disney movies are no longer part of netflix, so Starwars movies (acquired by Disney) have also moved out to Disney+ (their version netflix (Streaming movies and other shows).

I'll continue posting to my livejournal. Maybe I'll think about linking it to my facebook someday.
