[For Ellie]

After a few dozen awesome ideas (a couple vetoed by Chuck), Devon settled on the classic engagement: fancy dinner for two.

Well, about as fancy as being on the island could get a guy, but that wasn't what mattered. Devon'd been able to bring up the idea of a dinner for just the two of them as a way to celebrate Ellie being back in her own body, and it was something they hadn't done in a while. So, he'd spent a nervewracking day planning, an anxious evening helping Ellie cook, and a terrifying dinner waiting for the perfect moment to pop the question.

Not that Devon wasn't anything but cool the entire time. A guy had to keep his wits about him when it came to something as huge as this, no matter how much he wanted to hurl into the bushes out back. Despite his nerves, dinner went as well as it always did when it was just the two of them, because...well, it was Ellie.

Time kinda did that weird thing, where it moved slow all day, then double-timed through dinner, and before he knew it, Devon was putting plates aside and pouring them both a glass of something (it was fruity and could almost be wine, it worked) as he listened to Ellie talk about...something. Plans? Party?

"I vote limbo dancing," he said when there was enough of a lull in Ellie's talking for him to pipe up.

ellie, in-game
