Second Possession - [RL with Rock] And I'll make you suffer, like my forefathers before me.

Jul 15, 2009 23:32

It was at times like these that Shuyin was thankful for such easy opportunities. First, with access to the community, it allowed him to spy and get accustomed to people with his acting, so he could use them whenever he felt it was necessary. Second, the community members there were so gullible, they believed just about anything he told them. There ( Read more... )

Despite the fact of everything that had happened, the revelations of this little excursion, as well as the possible consequences of what had happened, Rock was still fighting. It was almost pathetic, but it was all he could do at this point. He screamed in anguish and fury, indigo blazing around his fists. He wasn't going to give up with out a fight, dammit- he couldn't.

Not if he wanted to face Terry or any of his friends again.

The boy seemed to not know when to give up, nor when quit fighting. It was growing rather tiresome for Shuyin, really, and to say that it was slightly getting on his nerves was an understatement. He pushed open the doors to the temple, the Hymn of the Fayth echoing in his ears, as he strode in proudly towards the Chamber of Trials, ignoring the looks he received from those there.

But he hadn't even reached the second step before a priest came to him, telling him that the chamber was closed, due to the defeat of Sin, and that he would have to step down.

Through Rock's eyes, Shuyin gave the priest a slightly irritated look, and without even hesitating, grabbed the man by his robes and threw him, using Shinkunage.

"Get out of my way." His voice was cold and unforgiving, much like the guards were to him and Lenne, so many years ago.

Rock could see what was happening, the fact that this asshole was using his body to do all these things, and it infuriated him. "STOP!" He was getting sick of being used like this. First by his own father, then Kain, now this guy. He wasn't going to let himself be used, not anymore. He was his own person.

Several of the guards were already rushing to the scene after hearing the commotion, and Rock's body acted accordingly, indigo aura blazing around his fists before launching a Double Reppuken at them.

This was too easy. Had Shuyin known the Bevelle guards were this weak after the death of Sin, he'd have struck long ago.

The attack sent at the group was unlike anything they had ever seen before, and they tried to avoid it. But with all that heavy armor on- they were a bunch of sitting ducks. It was much like watching a bowling ball ramming into a line of pins, the guard's bodies flying everywhere. Pathetic.

Hearing the boy screaming inside, telling him to stop, it just made the spirit howl in laughter. This was a wonderful feeling, to be in control and to be so close to what he had been planning for so long.

A lone priest had managed to pass by Rock while he was attacking, and tried to run for the door. But he caught Shuyin's eye, and with a quick burst of speed via Rage Run -Shift-, he was standing before the man with a look of maniacal insanity in his eyes.

"You. Heal me, unless you wish for your soul to depart for the Farplane now."

The priest squirmed in his grasp, but what could he do? This boy...he had attacked them without so much as a moment of hesitation. And taken them down so fast...what did he want here, anyway? Healing couldn't have been the only thing he wanted. So he complied, chanting softly before a soft aura enveloped Rock's body, closing the wounds from Byakuya's Senbonzakura as well as any scrapes from fighting the guards back in Second South.

Meanwhile, Rock had stopped attacking, his body aching all over and screaming at him. He had worn himself out several times already trying to fight back, but this time it was even worse. But he couldn't resort to any of Geese's attacks, it would just end up with him in even more pain, and even weaker than before.

But there had to be a way.

If only they knew his true intent, that the one behind this all was one who was once a soldier of Zanarkand- one with a bitter taste for vengeance, and one who wished to take away everything Spira had ever fought for, since he had lost everything valuable to him. Shuyin waited until the priest was finished, and then knocked him to the floor easily, rendering him useless to him once more.

The stairs led upwards, but he didn't go very far. He walked towards the platform that was across from him now, and it began to lower towards the trial grounds. Once there, he told it to move forward, to where the Chamber of Fayth resided.

Noticing Rock's halt in attacking, Shuyin could only chuckle. "Getting tired now, are we? How would you like to see Vegnagun up close and personal, Rock?"

"Keh." Rock clenched his fist before glaring up. "What the hell do you think? I want nothing to do with that damn thing. You're the one who decided to hijack my body WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!" He could feel a small twitch forming underneath his eye before he began to renew his attack, ignoring the aching in his body.

Seeing the boy struggle to regain control and continue to attack once more, Shuyin could only chuckle darkly.

"What a shame," he told the boy with a slnister tone- "and here I was hoping that you two would become great friends once it awoke. Using you has made my plans so much easier. What a good pawn you are, Rock."

They had reached the Chamber of Fayth, and, after stepping off the platform, Shuyin paused in where he needed to go. His memories of how it had looked began to flood his mind, ghostly images of Bevelle guards runnning to and fro along the halls. One in particular caught his eye, and he followed, watching the guard step close to the wall, touching one of the ribs lightly before a panel opened in it. Shuyin mimicked him, using Rock's body to open the secret passageway, and reveal another platform that lead to a long hallway below.

Beyond that hallway- he could hear it calling. And, if he listened closely, he could even hear her gentle voice, calling to him lovingly.

...Shuyin... Shuyin...

Rock froze, his body stiffening. What in the hell... For some reason, he was beginning to shake, but it wasn't in anger or sorrow. It was strange. He had only done this once before, and that wasn't even in the waking world-

-he was scared.

There was silence as the platform descended, the spirit trying to keep himself from nearly pouncing off the damn thing as it came to the lower floor. Although he knew it wasn't that far, Vegnagun wasn't exactly that close either.

The hallway was vast- it was long, and it seemed to stretch for miles. Shuyin's mind was now vividly recalling how the place looked back in his millenia, the ghosts of the past now becoming more lively and certain. Heavily armored guards passed by, making another round on their patrol, while others stood coldly against the walls, their eyes impossible to see under the helmets they wore. Each and every one carried a rifle, ready to act in a moment's notice.

Shuyin strode past them, his eyes vague on noticing their appearance. They were spirits, much like him, but they were dead and had been Sent, while the Pyreflies for him had kept his memories alive for a millenia in agony. Reliving that one moment, over and over and over again... that moment of losing the woman who had meant everything to him ( ... )

Rock was still trying to take this all in, but by the time they had reached the weapon itself, he had recomposed himself, eyes narrowing at the machina. So that was the thing that he wanted resurrected so badly? A small growl formed at the back of Rock's throat, his aura renewing as he gazed upon the monstrosity.

"No. I'm through being everyone's pawn," he said softly, clenching a fist.

"YOU HEAR ME?! I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SICK SCHEMES OR WHATEVER STUPID-ASS REASON YOU HAVE TO DESTROY AN ENTIRE WORLD. SO WHAT, SOMEONE PISSED YOU OFF, I GET THAT. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT INNOCENT LIVES SHOULD SUFFER AS WELL, DIPSHIT!"

"You should know when to hold your tongue, boy, for you have no right to tell me anything." Shuyin snapped at the him, walking towards the machina. Of course, the boy didn't understand. He couldn't understand. Rock hadn't lived on past his death for a millenia, lingering as a spirit, only to be reminded of how he lost everything every waking moment that he still existed. He had no idea of the agony and regret Shuyin had faced as the years went by, and why he was aiming to destroy all of Spira.

"This world is plagued by war, loss, and suffering. I'm purging it of its uncleanliness." Ignoring how Rock was insulting him, or at least trying, Shuyin made the boy continue to close the gap between the two, his eyes beginning to gleam with madness. So close, so very close. And then, he was standing before it, the cold metal of the machina causing him to slightly shudder in excitement. He remembered sitting in that seat at the top, playing that song to awaken the machina and the cannon within it. And seeing her there. Lenne...With a new ( ... )

"And you have no right to force me into your little schemes," Rock retorted, his eyes narrowing. Oh, no he wasn't. Not here, not now, not ever. No place deserved the fate that he thought was necessary. With a deep breath, Rock gathered energy in his hands again, this time...

He was going to give it everything he got. Screw his father, screw his uncle, screw everything right now. All that mattered was stopping this crazy bastard from destroying an innocent world. "But it's also got peace, happiness, and light. It's your own fucking fault if you're so goddamn blind to your own stupid emo rants to notice it. My body's not anyone's puppet. RAGING...." He placed both hands on the barrier, the energy coming from him still indigo. He wasn't going to let Geese take anything from this. "...STORM!!!" He screamed, energy erupting from his hands and cutting into the barrier.

Shuyin was halfway up the back of the machina when Rock struck with Raging Storm. His confidence made him a proud spirit, so he naturally thought the barrier would be strong enough to hold the boy back. It seemed to work, until he felt one of the energy waves break through and hit him straight in the back, and it caused Shuyin to go sprawling. Rock's body lost one of its grips on a holding on the machina as the spirit was hit, and swore out loud as he dangled for a few seconds, before slowly regaining composure and hauling himself up the machina once more.

Rage seethed from Shuyin as he picked himself up and glared daggers at the rebellious boy who kept crossing him. There was a gaping hole now where the barrier once stood, but it was healed again within seconds, the spirit's tolerance and patience growing extremely thin with the boy.

"You're getting tiresome, Rock. Do you really think you can stop me when we've come this far?" By now, he had reached the top, and swung Rock's body over and into the pilot section of the machina. His ( ... )

Rock grinned as his desperate attack had caused him to falter, ignoring the very fire in his veins after using the Raging Storm. He could tolerate it, if only to see this guy's composure begin to crack.

It wasn't until after the memory subsided that he spoke again, his voice a strange mixture of emotion- anger, annoyance, pity...and maybe a bit of sympathy. He had lost a lot in his life, too. But this wasn't any reason. Terry would kill him if he tried pulling anything close to this because he lost his mother.

"YOU'RE DOING ALL THIS FOR YOUR GIRLFRIEND? PATHETIC! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD THINK THAT DESTROYING AN ENTIRE WORLD WOULD SUDDENLY MAKE EVERYTHING RIGHT?! MOVE ON, YOU IDIOT!"

Rock's words echoed in his head, the spirit being silent as they reverberated within him. If he could have moved on, he would- but the Pyreflies kept him here, reminding him of the loss of Lenne. If he ended Spira, both she and he would be finnaly free to fade away into the Farplane. That was what he wanted. The world was a cruel place, full of heartless people and constant suffering- if it was destroyed, no one would feel pain anymore.

However, despite the silence, the amount of anger and rage was building within the spirit, and his face twisted in a dark scowl at Rock's words.

"You... you DARE to tell me to move on?! You have no idea of how much agony I have suffered for a millenia over this, she was my everything!" He paused, his body still shaking angrily, his mind screaming at him to just destroy the boy ( ... )
