I stopped watching Glee since the middle of Season 4 and only watched it again last week - since I thought Amber was in the episode. Ever since season 4, Glee was a great disappointment to me. Season 5 was the same - except for the tribute episode to Cory and the latest episode. I must say that 5x11 is definitely one of the best episode and honestly, I didn't expect that they would put another tribute to Finn in this episode.
Things that I really like in this episode:
- Mr. Shue chose Sam as the leader instead of Blaine. People might argue that Blaine should be the leader and all but let's face it. Sam had been in New Direction longer than him. He was personally recruited by Finn. Besides, I am one of Sam's stans. Of course I love it
- When Sam said that he's not Finn. It shows that there's only one Finn and it cannot be replaced and it saves Chord from being bashed.
- Mercedes' appearance. I love her since the first season and I love how 'DIVA' she was when she appeared.
- TinCedes moment. I always love Tina and Mercedes' friendship and it good to have another glance at it
- No Rachel. I hate her so, watching an episode where she only appeared at the end was a satisfaction
- That tiny bit Samcedes moments. I see you, Sammy boy
- Mercedes' three minutes advice to Marley. Seriously, Marley needs to learn on how NOT to give up.
- Carole and Burt.
- Roz and Sue's scene.
- Chord's impressive acting
The moment the flashback of the image of Finn appeared, I was crying. Seriously, I didn't expect that! The scene where everybody was celebrating and Sam was hiding. The looks in his eyes, how he hugged Mr. Shue - everything was heartbreaking. I think there's a glimpse of Chord's grief there. He didn't have a big part in the Quaterback episode and 5x11 could be counted as his own tribute to Finn/Cory. Chord did a great job in this episode and I do hope that he'll get a bigger and more serious role to play.
