Where have I been?
Well, let's see.
I took a super-rare vacation and went to see my parents in South Carolina, and learned that unbeknownst to me, the town that they live in, is home to the headquarters for Denny's, BMW, and as I did remember, has a heck of a lot of Waffle House locations, which is not a bad thing. It was good and extremely relaxing to get away, and I got to spend some good time with them, and I definitely got the best out of my plane ticket, which I got via Independence Air, who I highly recommend, after my first experience flying with them.

Got home, and was back at work for about a day and a half, and then I headed off to Detroit to see a good friend and take in a club show from Velvet Revolver. As you would expect from a group featuring Weiland from STP and GNR members, they brought the live show.
On the way back from Detroit Rock City, I had the pleasure of having a tire blow out, about 10 minutes out of the city. Interesting note - of the 3 tires that I have replaced on the car, all 3 have been on the front passenger side. It hates me, I guess. Thank goodness for road hazard tire production - saved a nice buck on the replacement. So, other than the fact that it was raining and shitty out, and I had the tire blow out, I guess it was a good drive home.
It's been nice having all of this time off, and being that things are kind of dead during the holidays, I think that I will probably enjoy the rest of the year.
Musically, my buddy gave me a copy of the new U2, which I continue to enjoy, and also the new Aerosmith live DVD, which I haven't had a chance to give listen to yet. Also scored a pretty nice bootleg that combines Elton John and Clapton on two discs - the Elton is from 1984, and the Clapton set is from 1986 - both, in great rockin' quality.
Other than that, the holiday was low-key, and the first one that I have not spent with my parents. Here's hoping that all of you had a good one!
