here we go...

Okay so I've been promising to update for ages, but I haven't made it. Finals have been over for a week now and to be perfectly honest I haven't stopped. Now though I've found some time and here I am.

Finals were an experience. Since I got ill (it'll soon be 2 years) exams have posed a something of a problem with me. I still have some issues that make revision hard work, and by the end of the exam period I'm like a damp dishrag. I had two sets of exams, the first lot were written papers and the second lot were practicals. All of them went pretty much as I expected, so now its just the wait for results. Thankfully the AUT strike ended on the night before my final final, so we will actually get our results before we graduate and we won't be denied the chance to experience our graduation. I know its just one day, and it's purely ceremonial, but it means a lot to me and my family. A few times we wondered whether I was going to reach the stage of graduating or whether I would have had to give it all up, so to have that day of ceremony and celebration means a lot to all of us.

So that's the uni stuff pretty much over. I'm back home right now trying to clear my room of some of the junk I've accumulated in the ten years since we moved here ready for the move back at the end of June. Funny that it seems to be the knitting and books that have taken over the most.

I went on Thursday to visit angelsays and see the Shiny offices. They're very nice, and I really liked the time I spent there on Friday morning doing my daily bits and bobs for Trashionista. I think my dad is a little scared that I enjoyed it too much. He's safe though - the kids are still calling me!!! Exmouth Market has, I think, leapt up very highly on my favourite parts of London list. The atmosphere was very cool, and very un-London.

I've been watching a lot of films lately. They helped to fill in the nights when I could not sleep (stopped me getting stressed about the fact my body was conspiring to damage itself as much as it could) and also the times when I had to stop and rest. I'll come back tomorrow (or somewhere around then) and talk about them.

We went (that's me, Ceri, Lisa and Rhiann) on Monday to Bristol for Lisa's 21st birthday surprise trip. The main focus of the trip was our visit to the Endemol West studios to watch the taping of two shows of Deal or No Deal! We had to sign a confidentiality contract thing so I can't tell you what actually happened in the episodes, but they will be shown on a Tuesday and Wednesday sometime in October. For one we're sat way off to one side, but for one we're a little more visible than I'd have chosen myself, directly behind the contestant!! Funniest moment for my fellow trip mates was related to the t-shirts we were all wearing. They were typical 'event' t-shirts, a logo saying "Lisa's 21st Birthday" on the front, and then our roles for the day on the back. Mine said (in an ironic manner) "Health & Safety". I lived up to my role pretty well, giving appropriate briefings about travel by car and boat etc. Shame then when I managed to break my toe on a trestle table in the audience holding area :-S

I think thats enough for now. You'll all be wishing I'd go again!!
